About Bots

Apologies if this topic has already been covered at some point.

Do all sites allow Bots. Do they have to be registered with the site to be operational?

What criteria do you use to detect bots?

Since their statistical calculations are instant, does anyone fear playing against them?

Are they found at all stakes?

What strategies do you employ to combat them. (I usually fold if they raise, lol).

Enquiring minds want to know.

P.S. Does our forum have a search box - so that it would bring up past articles if you enter a key word?

Yes - look at the row below the one where it shows the forum you are in and says Welcome CallMeBaby. It is the 6th item across.

Just to clarify, you are talking about sites actually using their own bots to fill tables and play against members right? You're not talking about members logging on and using a bot to play, correct? Obv the latter is a violation of every TOS out there for every online site.

As to the former, I've played in ring games at Ultimatebet that had what appeared to be a bot playing (and it didn't chat which added to the mystery of it all). Played like a bot too. If all their bots are like that one, I would like to find a table full of them. So, no, I don't mind at all as I busted that(what I think was a) bot several times. And after each beat it automatically reloaded with half of the max buy-in.

Once I went to a heads up ring game 25 cent/50 cent and everytime I raised, the other person would fold. Every once in awhile the guy would raise, which I figured out meant he had a monster hand. So I'd raise with any hand and fold when he raised. I made $65 in about 10-15 minutes, it was awesome.
