ABC News Video on College Student who went from $20 to $400,000+

Lots of buzz about this lately in the lame duck congress.

Thanks for this, WEC. The vid was actually a very fair and decent portrayal of a successful online player, and well could be considered inspiring by viewers.

As for the accompanying story. I thought that was pretty good too. That is, until the very end:

"Licensing and regulating online poker is the most effective and responsible way to ensure the online safety of America's children and consumers," said Parry Aftab, an internet privacy and security expert who has testified before Congress on the need for legislative reforms.

"Given the growing popularity of online poker, especially on college campuses, we cannot afford to miss this opportunity to protect America's children and consumers. We must take action now," Aftab said."

When I read or hear nonsense like this I just shake my head.

yeah, there is a lot of hatred for poker out there. Makes it tougher to get it legalized properly

"...protect Americas children..."

Fom what? Actually making money??

In all seriousness though, don't you hate it when some political dink who is not involved in the industry throws a downer into a great success story?

Pretty cool story. Wish it was as easy as throwing $20 bucks in an account and winning a few tournaments.......
