| 729 winners only tournament Has anyone heard of this format? The tournament starts at 729, 81 tables of 9. Each table plays down to a winner, leaving 81 players. Those cash. Then the tournament is randonmly split into 9 tables of 9, again the winners advance to a final table of 9. I think it sounds like a good format that should be experimented online. |

| this format is called a shootout, they are already online but dont have a set number of players needed to start. i guess 729 rounds down well but they can just make the first set of tables shorthanded to solve any math problems. |

| Or "Knockout tournament". I tried it once, it was fun. The problem is the discrete (3) rounds: once you win your table, you need to wait for all the other 80 tables to find their winner.... which can take half an hour or similar. |

| Called a "Shootout". I agree that waiting for the other tables can be tiresome but I try and multi table but even then it catches up with me sometimes. I enjoy these types of games. |
