$50 to $10,050 in under 6 months

Ok, so I was gonna wait until I was a little further along in this little project before posting anything, but here we go.


When I decided to start playing again, I figured I'd do something fun and perhaps inspire some people who may be struggling. I started playing again on February 6th with $50.01 in my account, and I plan to have made over $10,000 in NLHE Ring Games before August 6th. This is of course without making any more deposits, and following pretty standard BRM (25 up, 20 down). I've already made good progress, tripling my BR and up to 5nl.

I'll see about making a couple videos along the way. It'll be at least a week or so before I'll even have a chance to though since I'd have to get a new mic.

I'm not much of a cash game player, so tried something similar with sngs- the $1 turbo 45 player sngs are just as easy as most freerolls!

played 500 of them and made $230 (plus cleared $50 free cash), so am now playing another 500 to see if I can do better, having deposited $50 (so am clearing another $50 bonus)

Effectively the $50 cash/ bonus pays for the $0.10 fee - so it's basically rake-free.

I find cash games too stressful- when someone hits that 2/3 outer on the river then losing a nice stack thats taken hours to build up can drive me mad, whereas in a $1 sng all you've lost is the buyin.

getting to $10k would be a great achievement from $50 - I'm dreaming of getting to $1k!

200NL. Probably higher, though I haven't played higher than 200NL yet.

Sounds a little manic to me. I would just focus on charting and playing good poker, the charting is great but I have seen this lead to insta tilt of full bankrolls a bout a hundred times.

I had a smaller challange some time ago, but I was not able to do it all the way... I will follow your journey for sure.

Quick little update. Just hit 20k hands this month, putting me well on pace to hit 50k for the month. Also just did the math, if I get to 10NL in time to play ~20k hands there this month, I have a shot at making SilverStar. $25 more till 10nl. 25NL by the end of the month, imo.

Madison, grew up in LaCrosse, highschool in Milwaukee, dad born in Eau Claire, etc. etc. The snow melted there yet>? You gonna wanna stay inside so much playing poker once the weather gets nice?

Northern part of the state. About an hour north of Wausau. And no, the snow isn't melted yet, probably about 2 more weeks before it's gone.
