^^^ Anything, im looking for a general that covers a lot of areas, even if only briefly since im still new to 3 and 4-betting for value but i cant find any. I used to 3 bet with big pairs only until chuck enlightened me to the glory of value 3 betting with lesser holdings

re: 3 betting & 4 betting pre flop poker dbitel wrote an article on 3-betting light which is great: http://www.cardschat.com/f11/hi-i-m-...at-post-76473/ Basically 3-betting should be used for value as well as balance. If you're playing micro stakes (~25nl and under), most players will look you up anyways, so you can save the 3-betting strictly for value with your big hands. As you move up in stakes, players get slightly more aggressive and more observant, so you can 3-bet with wider ranges to keep them on their toes. I mean if the only time you're 3-betting is with big pairs, your opponents will notice this and won't give you any action. 4-betting gets a little complicated, but usually unless you're up against a maniac you should save it for your KK+ since most people won't give that much action without something that beats <KK and the unpaired hands. What stakes do you play?

re: 3 betting & 4 betting pre flop poker ^^^ Really???? Wow thats amazing if thats true, i did not know i was playing stakes that high. I always thought the pound was double the dollar, don't know why i thought that, i just assumed for some reason. To be fair though, it feels more like $50 nl playwise. Since the lowest games are £50, then £100 (my game), £200 and £500 in my casino. So it is only the 2nd level available, so the play isnt great, probably as good as the $200 nl tenbob has talked about on i-poker Its actually quite enlightening and joyful knowing im playing stakes that high although if comments are to be made suggesting various things, it is probably best if you relate the £100 to $50 or $100 online, since it is probably around the same skil llevel.
