Who else thinks Smith's preflop raise was too small?

Jordan Smith Eliminated in 10th Place ($896,730)
Eric Buchman opened for 650,000, Darvin Moon flat-called from the button and Jordan Smith reraised to 2.6 million from the small blind. Buchman folded and Moon called. The flop was . Smith checked, Moon bet 4,000,000, Smith moved all in and Moon called. Smith Moon The turn was the , Smith picking up an inside straight draw to a wheel. The river, though, was the and Moon took down the pot with his set of eights, eliminating Smith and setting the 2009 "November Nine." Moon has an estimated 59,770,000 chips. We'll post the remainder of the final table chip counts as soon as they're verified.

The REraise was fine IMO.
He made it 4 times the raise, witch is maybe even a little to big.

If I'm in that spot, I may have gone 5x-6x since Moon flatted.

However, it's important to note that the ME played out unlike any tourney in history. Especially amongst deep stacked tournies. The Kopp/Moon 40 million chip pot when they both had flushes that weren't the nuts on a paired board, speaks volumes to how this played out.

Conventional play was not really the norm. The 10 man final table had lasted about 45 minutes and not quite one orbit. Perhaps Smith had played hands with Moon previously on other tables that led him to do what he did. Or maybe he just blew up. Also, Moon may have still called OOP for 5x-6x since he was super chip leader.

Yep the consensus appears to be that the ME played like an online tourney despite the deep stacks for at least the last 3 days.

Ya, it was a bit small, 750-850 would have been better He knows he'll probably get a call with a wide range of hands with small raise. although didn't matter what he bet, moon was callin anything under a mil.

You apparently didn't read the hand correctly. We are talking about Jordan Smith's re-raise which was 2.1 Million more than Buchman's. Moon had already called 650 and called the addition 2.1 Mil.
