Would appreciate some book recommendations So I've just finished Harrington on Holdem II, and it's really done a lot for how I think about my game. Great stuff. Now, I'm looking for a new tome to read. So far I've read: Harrington I Harrington II Phil Gordon's Little Green Book What would make a good next book for me? Clearly at some point I will pick up Harrington III, but what else? FYI: I play NLHE SNGs almost exclusively (live and online), generally small stakes ($10-20). I liked Harrington's books because he had a strong focus on what I'll call "applying the fundamentals", and Gordon's book was a fun read. Thoughts?

A definate read is Sklanskys' - Theory of Poker, opens up a whole new game before your eyes, pot odds, implied odds etc. If your maths is a little unsure it could be toughish at times, but as you have already read a bit you probably know the basics so a big yes for this one from me. IanT

Would you say that it's still a pretty relevant book today? I sat down at a Barnes & Noble once and speed read through the NLHE section of Super System I, and though it was an interesting read I gleaned little of real direct use as it was a tad dated.

I read Slanky's 'Small Stakes Hold'em in which he talks about pot odds, implified odds, etc. Should I still get ToP since they sound similar althoug SSH is only for Limit holdem?

well I stopped being cheap and ordered Harrington's vol 1 & 2. I mostly was interested in cash games but I have started to play more trnys. At some point I guess I will buy ToP and maybe SS or SS2. Its just so much to read that I feel an overload coming . thanks guys.

re: Would appreciate some book recommendations poker I would suggest reading SuperSystem 1 & 2 and comparing each section to each other. There are small diffences that you may find useful. Anything from Sklansky, T.J. Cloutier or Howard Lederer. I havn't read Helmuth's book, but I've heard it is good for classifying a player. I would also be interested in Negraneau's book coming out and Barry Greentsteins book.

I dont think you can get a cheaper site that I know of . I have started to buy from Amazon because they have good prices and you dont have to worry about the bidding that goes with Ebay. I Helmuths book from Amazon for 29 cent but after I read it , I realized why it was almost free
