When your at a NL table, when do you leave?

Most people like to leave once they get above a certain % of the money they orginally had. I've heard anywhere from 5% to double.

What about you, and whats your reasoning for that?

I leave up about 90% through about 200% i rarely stay if i'm up 3x my bi.My reson is different on every table,some times if there are alot of regs that are ultra tight,an if there are alot of good lag players on it an i can't seem to connect on the flop thats bad for my style of play.

Why would you base when you leave a cash table on the amount of money you have unless you're a shortstacker? Play until either you have real life obligations, you're not playing well, or the table becomes unprofitable.

I think you need to set some kind of limit on leaving.
It really depends on the table though.

Is it an action table? Are you hitting cards?
Is it full of Loose Aggressive players just giving away chips?

Each session will be different.

Use your own judgment and leave when you feel it is right.
Sometimes I play a certain number of hands and move on.
Sometimes it a percentage and I leave.

If I am running bad, I leave before I make the donk move and bust out.

There are times when you REALLY have to be honest with yourself and realize you are playing badly.

Hmmmmm. I just found a great time to leave.... After 3 hands...
Was just on a table. 1st hand AKc. flop 2 3 7 check to me, raise 4 BB, 2 calls, turn 9 (no flush draw) check to me 4 BB, 2 calls, river J, check to me, I check 9s haveit.
2nd hand JQ st. flop J Q 3, turn 2 river 8 short version.. raised min bet, was called, bet the check 2x 3 3 3 wins.
3rd hand Me A 5s flop 234 RB, one guy all in, I call he has (!!!!!!!) A4os
turn A river 4 I left the table........

I leave after one hour. Never stay longer . I do 2-3 sessions a day maximum. Never stay longer than an hour a session cose i want to be at my best all the time. Only times i spend more time is when i play in a tournament but in a tournament i do not play as many hands as in ring games.

Depends on the table ,I started with $5 I won from a freeroll on PS and first ring table I sat at I had the whole $5 left 8 hands later with $16 so 3x's .
Next one I lost the $5 I started with ,won $20 on the next level and when i hit the ring I won $64.36 so 3's again ...non holdem games I will go double or broke =c) now I manage my bank better and wont click on whole BR when i sit

1: Too many short stacks.
2: Someone who's calling/raising me light with position on me.
3: I'm tilting or otherwise playing badly.

That's about it. I don't leave based on how much I've won or lost, but a 4 buy in swing up or down is usually enough to cause me to play badly so I usually leave after that but because of my play not winnings/losses.

1. No action. This is the most common reason.
2. I dislike the competition. I feel there are too many regs.
3. If I get a really bad beat I'll leave to avoid tilting.
4. If I double up I might leave. I feel I sometimes play differently when I'm winning.

If you're better than the players at the table, or there are a few fish at your table, then you never want to rathole. Playing deepstacked can be soooo profitable. I was checking out the 100NL tables yesterday and there was a guy on there with ~$950. He made $850 in one session on one table.

If you feel that you're just an average player, then I might suggest hopping out when you double your stack. Leaving when you're up 5% is just plain ridiculous, unless you're shortstacking.

Also - like a few others said, I (try) to leave when I'm on tilt. If I've been stacked 2 or more times within a 10 minute period I usually hop off for a few minutes to take a break and cool down, especially if I got it all in before the river and I lost because of the river.

Double or broke, LOL . Until double because I made a good profit, and broke because I don't know when to leave the table .

95% of people should leave after doubling up. If you're bad or not used to playing deep then leave, it's not in your best interests and playing deep is a completely different game and much harder. The mistakes are magnified.

Of course if there's a super fish then you have to stay and just try to avoid tricky situations with other large stacks. I was sat with 1000bb on a normal 6-max table the other day, thanks to a super fish I left when he did.

- Usually I'll give myself "real world" time limit - with the exception of - if there is a huge fish / more than one fish at the table that is just spewing money.

- If I lose more than 2 full buy ins

- If the table becomes too short handed (5 or 6 players) and the floor manager refuses to adjust the house rake structure accordingly.

- If I feel that I may have lost my table image b/c of either a mistake I made or because too many of my plays were being revealed.

- I may decide just to switch tables if I don't think a table suits my style of play, I don't like my seat position at the table, there is not enough action at a table or if there is someone at the table that just tilts me beyond belief.

I play at commerce casino about 4 times a week. I only play the 4-8 limit game, it is very juicy and alot of asian players who have no idea what they are doing. I only take one buy in (100), if i lose that i leave. For me it is all about the table that iam at, if iam two or three hundred up from the original buy in and the table is right for me i will stay for hours. If i double or triple up and the table is tight i take my winnings and go home. I have great success there and make about 600-1000 a week. usually iam 3 out of 4 winning sessions. I think u have to evaluate ur table and ur stack and how much do u want to risk. Playing limit, my stack is never at risk so it is much easier to gage when to leave vs. no limit where ur stack might be in jeopardy in every hand u play.

I have a personal rule, which I break often. If I double my money then I will go ahead and get out. Now if I start out losing and my stack going down it is hard for me to get up and walk away thus i tend to lose the rest of what I sat down with. I never rebuy though.

-when the table VPIP drops below 25
-when the huge fish goes broke/leaves
-when the table fills with nits who give no action

If I'm up 400BB I wont leave purely because of this...I thin its silly to leave as long as the person/s are still willing to feed you chips. If they aren't then I will take that profit off the table as I dont want to give it back to regs.

I leave when my stack reaches 2.5 times my buy in.

The reason I do this is bankroll management. If you are playing within your bankroll (i.e. 20 buyins), doubling or tripling up can leave you with 10% of your bankroll on a single table. I like to leave the table at this point.

I put myself on a time limit. I found that comprimizing with family is the best way for my hobby to become a win-win situation. Each of my sessions will never last more than an hour in a cash game and maybe a bit longer than that with a 1 table SNG. It works for me. Good luck in finding yours.

When I feel like I no longer have an edge over my opponents.

...When I still don't know who the fish is/are after 30 minutes.

When I'm running bad and/or I don't feel like playing anymore.

I always set a time limit where I force myself to evaluate the table. If I wouldn't sit down at it, I leave. After an hour, most of the table has turned over. Lots of tables, easy to move. Don't get complacent.
