when to slow play trips with draw on flop.

when to slow play trips with draw on flop.

need a little advice please.
i never slow play trips or two pr
when there is a flush or straight
draw on the board......
even if i´am heads up.
i make a pot sized bet.
i see other players milk trips
for all their worth in the same situation.
is it correct to ever slow play trips
with a draw showing on the flop?
and under what conditions?
thanks for your ideas.
best,
donvic

"Thou shalt not slow play trips" This is the eleventh commandment.

Flop to turn matrixing never puts trips in a safety zone allowing slow play possibilities. You want action, but always give a wrong price. Most draws that people will see turn cards with can beat trips.

If its heads up you dont have to worry THAT much about a draw. Chances are that if you hit trips heads up you wont have to worry about them catching a straight or flush is most cases. Dont play them too slowly but dont get too paranoid that they dont pay you off. The chance that the only other player at a table other than you has a great draw on the flop is very low. Heck, K high is the best hand in many heads up situations.

I depend on what type a player ur up against. I hardly ever slow play a set if i get called preflop. when i bet the flop they usually play back at me. You have so pay attention to the player ur up against in earlier hands. See if he slow play at all. Often when people check the turn its a sign of weakness, but there are some people bet their draw but then when they catch their draw they check. those are the ones you have to look out for.

thanks for the advice.
that sounds like a big "NO"
the check-raise with aggressive player
is not really the calling/slow playing of a hand
which i was asking about.

so the pot sized raise is best policy,
except maybe one on one with aggressive player? right?

hey, thanks for all the good ideas.
looks like i¨m going to stick to
playing a set aggressivly and
not take risk with a flush or straight
draw on the board.
only exception being to pass once to
trap an aggressive player.
yep, that´s what i´m going to do.
best to everyone,
donvic

So... if there is no flush/straight draw, then slow playing trips would be ok right? What other board possiblities are there that could hurt your hand? I personally love to slow play a hand when i know i can win it.

If you check with trips, the guy with the draw willcheck, then he'll see the turn, and If he hits his draw, you like 3% to win.

Are being funny when you say 3% jeter? For example..lets say i hold 99 and opponent has A 7 suited. Flop is 2 to his flush and a 9 giving me trips. The turn is completes opponents flush. However i now have 10 outs which is just over 20%...still pretty slim but it certainly isn't 3%. 10 outs= one 9 left. 3 other cards on the board which there are 3 each left in the deck. that gives 10 outs.
Just making sure you get the pic.

I usually bet high on flop when i have a set just to see if anyone is on a draw, when the turn comes up if everyone checks, i usually check to see the river, and when nothing looks like it helped anyone, i usually try to get as much as i can out of it.

You have to make them pay to out draw you, no free/cheap cards. Get the inside st drawers out. Flush draw is only 3-1 to hit.

I think the situatuion is different every time
I used to slow play trips all the time, but only do about 10% of the time now, If you are pocket pair hit trips your opponent will most likely not put you on set, making your hand very strong, so bet it and hope the got a piece and call.
