when to call all ins early

so alot of times in the lowie tournys i play (11 + 1, 6 +1) turbos people tend to raise all in and I get stuck with hands like AJ suited, and wondering if I should call. I understand positions in things like that, but most of the times it will be a 50/50 or just flat out get rocked with qqs kks or aas or just get incredibly lucky or unlucky.

any suggestions would be nice.

If you want to last, unless you have a big enough stack, try not to get into coin flip situations. I'd only call all in's with Aces Kings, or maybe Queens and AK suited, and definately against only one opponent. Of course the situation changes the more info you get on your opponent. If they go all in all the time with crap, call at your own risk.

I concur. Unless you have reliable notes that the person likes to all in with any two cards at the beginning of any tournament, stick with the solid hands. Don't race early game. AJ may give you 50/50 odds in the beginning (I'd think less, but whatever), but AJ late game when people are playing more loose aggressive will give you 60-70% odds. Plus, it's really easy to tilt when you lose a whole tournament after just one hand.

It doesn't matter if it's early or not, unless it's so early you have no reads at all. What you consider are stack sizes relative to blinds and how your hand fares against a range of hands you put the raiser on.

In a vacuum, I'm not callling an all-in with AJs unless my M and/or raiser's M is very low and/or I have a read that the guy is a total donkey.

I do think that you have anwsered your own question really. Think about it

So as I have come to learn it is not good to flip or race early and thats just my opinion. Even if you get lucky do you really want to take that chance so early.

Depends on my read of the opponent's range. If he/she is pushing in every hand then 88+ for pocket pairs and aj+ for non paired hands. If it is not an all in every hand opponent, then qq+ for pp and ak for non paired.

first mistake: you dont call allin with aj...you go allin when you have qq kk or ak. qq is very dangerous hand too so you call an allin if only 1 person is in that hand. on final table at a important mtt i always fold qq when someone go allin( i learn this from my own mistakes) and i think this is the best solution.

There is not a lot of all-in hands that you are going to be starting better with when you have A/J. Turbos may get you a little antsy too double up quick but I think a move like calling an all-in with A/J will produce a negative ROI.
