Whats the best way to start a bankroll?

I once had a good amount of money of FullTilt, had a bad run and went broke, the freerolls are extremely time consuming and it is difficult to get in the money, any easier ways of making a bankroll from zero without depositing cash. Any other good sites that have good freerolls?

There are no good freerolls IMO. If you don't want to deposit they are pretty much your only option, good luck. Dealing with the incredibly donkish play as well as the time you have to put in to get even a small payout seems to me like a big waste of time. Lots of folks have gotten started that way though so to each his own.

The CardsChat freerolls offer a much better structure (not to mention prize pool) than the regular 2700 player Full Tilt ones. The single-country ones they run can be an improvement too, though depending on where you live the prize pools are smaller or the fields are just as big as normal.

No easy way to go about this unfortunately.

Many use freerolls as the way to go, on Ps there are freerolls every day which send 99 plyers through to a weekly final where there is money on offer (very time consuming)
On William Hill there are 2 100 dollar freerolls every day(these are easier).
I think really though the best way is through bonuses.
Just saw t6 poker have around 40 freerolls a day from 30 euro to 1000 euro .
Short handed tables 6 man on all so that must be an idea.

No good freerolls, trust me

Seriously, i had 0$ once on pokerstars. I placed in top 99 advanced to 2nd round finished 70th give or take a few. Won like 3$ I played some 1.25$ singles, built it to about 11$ played a 4.40$, my first one i played, i won! 180 player tourney! i won i think 225$ give or take a few, i built it even more! 275$ then one day, i went crazy, i kept getting bad beats, i got down to 180$ and that pissed me off ALOT! so i played 50$+2$ single 1v1. and i lost 3 straight! down to 30$ and i played 3 10$ tourneys, didnt place once!!!!!!!! all in about 4-5 hours i lost all 275$ I have not won a penny since! been like 2 months, i cant place in a freeroll. It is EXTREMELY hard to start up a bankroll, i cant do it anymore, toooooo hard.

That same thing happened to me, I went from winning $5 in a freeroll up to $500 dollars, then when i got bad beated, i wanted to win it back and played too high of stakes. All that was in about a day.

You have to stick to stakes that your bankroll can hold. You shouldn't be able to go broke in a day or 2. If you are a good online player and you play at the right stakes, you should see profit over a little bit of time.

Sell some stuff on eBay. Seriously. That is how I got started. If you have some video games lying around that you don't play anymore or some other junk you or your family wants to get rid of, try eBay.

re: Whats the best way to start a bankroll? poker

1. Bonus whoring. Advantages. Actually works well if you plan correctly. Disadvantages: May be tough for a complete noobie. You have to be very patient.

2. Freerolls and low limit cash games. Freerolls are always plus EV but take up a lot of your time. If you have to portion out your time to play they can be tough to get through without mulittabling. If takes a certain kind of player to sit down for four hours trying to win what amounts to bus change. But I like what the forums are starting to do by limiting the prize money to the final 2 or 3 tables. It gives you an incentive to play if you know that by cashing you will get at least $2.00. If you are not properly bankrolled you will go broke eventually playing FL or NL microrings. Most players lose or break even at the rings. To win you have to be aggressive at times and that is hard to do if you only have a couple of buy-ins.
I have increased my bankroll from $0.00 to $350.00 in 18 months by starting at $0.00 and playing freerolls and then moving into the microrings. To me that is a nice return but in terms of the time it took it is not that great. My suggestion is to play freerolls but also find some SNG's and forum buy in games and make a deposit once a month whether you win or lose. You can play a lot more confidently if you have some money in reserve. And lets face it, how many home games do you play with less than $50.00 or more. Why not put in $50.00 a month. My bankroll has increased a lot faster ( I doubled it in two months) when I started depositing.

It really depends on what you're wanting or hoping to accomplish online and is a very personal thing. 'Personally' I don't think it's worth it to even bother without depositing a minimum of $500, in order for one to play in decent games instead of being stuck trying to grind it out in the super micros.
I do dick around on one site, trying to put together a bankroll from scratch via freerolls and micro buy-ins but don't take it too seriously.
Seems like an odd question.. "how does one put together a bankroll without depositing and without playing in freerolls"... umm.. huh??? I suppose begging, or maybe getting staked. But to get staked one would need to have a decent trackrecord online and if one had previously had a bankroll of their own but had gone broke with it,.. I can't figure this'd be too good of an investment for anyone.

Look for forums like CARDSCHAT and play in the private freerolls. Less people and better prize structure.

I started out playing Pokerstars freerolls, time consuming for sure, such a small payout. And it wasn't just Hubbles I'd play the other freerolls. With the 3 hardearned dollars I won in various freeolls I took it to the real money tables winning the first STT I played in! And placing 2nd the next! From there I looked into PROPER bankroll management. Decided to grind out the 10 cent 360 player tournaments, won more buy-ins to the same tourney, while occasionally taking a chance on the micro HU and STT's. Glad to say I haven't busted out yet. So my advice is to GRIND, and stay discipline.

at Pokerstars right now, if yu are US or canadian look at the summer olympic series under tournaments then regional. With patience you can pick up an easy $5 to get you started. the new games run from Friday to thursday. If you play last 2 or 3 days each game only has around500-600 with top 250 getting $5. You can only play these once a week. On fulltilt, if you get your playchips up to 500,000 they have a nightly $40 freeroll you can buy into with 500,00 play chips. Usually only 50-60 entrants here. Good luck

I did something similar UFC. It sucks If you can do it once you can do it again. I believe you appreciate it more if you earn it from nothing , though it can be frustrating. You have to play your best even better so you can keep it. Have you heard of the Ferguson?

You can try freerolls, most require a lot of dedication and luck to get out of the cents range and work your way to some serious dough. I started with a mere $50 deposit on FT and worked from there and tried to follow some bankroll management and not play outside my limits too much. Or you can continue playing freerolls and then from there amass some change to start playing... I think it depends on how patient you are.

re: Whats the best way to start a bankroll? poker

im a freeroll player back then until i won some money, $5 if i remember it correctly. i played once in a 18 player sng and placed 1st. since then with a $14 to work with... im playing those micro sng's until today. i made about $190 for about 6months time now. withdrew $100 and now i have about $60 left but still composing myself and trying to avoid tilting.

cardschat freeroll are one of the best i played, specially, since they increased the quota for 50 post. even better are the buy-ins with added cash. my biggest online win is here so i am very thankful to cardschat for setting up such tourney... cheers!!!

I would have to say cardchat freerolls, Since they require 50 post to get the password the amount of people playing make it a great place to start a bankroll

You want the truth about how to build a bankroll? I'll tell you. The best way, bar NONE is to get a job. It's not what you wanna hear, but it's the best way. Obv you get money quicker, and if you're working you don't have to rely solely on poker for all your monetary needs.

Of course if you're asking about starting a bankroll, you likely have no needs, since you'd have a job already and this would be a moot point. Any kind of part time thing, even if it's just 2 days a week will have you a bankroll in no time.

re: Whats the best way to start a bankroll? poker

personally, i'd rather stick with freerolls to increase my bankroll and it will take time and patience, and yes "Bankroll management" set a goal for it, like wait until ya have 200$ total then play in the 4 +1$ games or whatever.. I really can't afford to deposit money into anything at all, so if you can go for it, but ask ya self do you really wana risk it that way.. and yes the donkish players, watch for them, but if you play smart and i have beaten alot of donkish players this way, only when i have a really really good hand..
Just my 2 Cents.
