What do you need to be holding to call a steal attempt from sb or bb

Im talking about in tournements $20 and above where if you call and get beat your tourney is over. What hole cards would you need to be holding to call an all in raise when your in either the sb or bb ? Assume its mid to late tournement when the blinds are fairly high and worth stealing!

if you know its a steal attempt and it's a pretty standard or weak player, just resteal.

Don`t call. Fold or reraise. I can`t give you a definite rule as to which, it`s totally situational. Depends on stack sizes, the strategic situation in the tourney and (most of all) your read of the player and your own table image.

The cards barely matter in such decisions.

basicly if you know its a steal attempt it doesnt matter what you hold.

He said ALL-IN ya'll not a simple raise, so there is no restealing to this.

Nord , you gotta factor in the player, the stack size of the player, his position, and your stack size and if he thinks you to be weak. If your getting shoved in all the time than I don't think its gonna matter what cards you got, your gonna have to call eventually or you won't have any fold equity when you push. Also, Make it your motive to steal someone's blinds that steals yours all chances you can.

if they don't have much left you can call with a much wider range of hands, because even if your beat you 'll probably still have live cards. Also gotta ask yourself if the person is capable of shoving with complete trash.

You don't need a dominating hand here, because its gonna be so much shoving no one can possibly have a real hand every time, and ALOT of people will shove simply because they have you covered and your tournament life is on the line. I'd just be a little more reserved on the tight pushers. I wouldnt call an under the gun raise without a superior hand, if its all in from the button i'll call with a lot wider range of hands. Why? Because the button is gonna base his push on the unlikely chance that the 2 cards you are dealt won't be better than queen or king high, and alot of times this is right. KQ I would call with hands like that. I'll call with ace rag from a button push if i know the button pushes all in with anything. That can get you in trouble tho if you dont know what your doing. I'll also call from an aggressive pusher that pushes in middle position all in with uncalled pot, because this basically perceived as one of the best positions to push so must people will push in middle position.

One all in you should stay away from without a superior hand is an early position limp from any player your perceive as good or who you think u nderstands the given situation, especially if they are shortstacked. If someone goes all in over top of that and your in the blind, thats a pretty sticky situation where I might lay down some pretty good hands considering what Im willing to call with. If there is 2 limpers and someone reraises all in I definitley would not call from the blinds without a superior hand, because if you perceive the person as good he probably understands that for him to reraise the limpers all in he's got a hand he feels pretty confident in cus its a good chance he could get called. If you know he's just trying to steal because he's aggressive and he's seen those other players limp and fold to reraises you can make an argument to call, but this is still a dangerous situation more times than less.

Just gotta know what your opponent is capable of pushing with, if they are tight than I wouldnt call with a10 or below ajack would be hard also , I'd rather call with J10 qj or kQ against a tight pusher because most likely they'll have a strong ace and if I am at the point where I feel I need to call I want live cards.

Just know that you have to step in there and take a chance, its better to double up when you have a 10 g stack with a hand like 98 suited (not saying to call with this, but you should raise or push with this in middle position from time to time). than to wait to call an all in with a dwindlign stack with a dominant hand only to be sucked out on. You can't wait, so pick your spots right based on your player reads and hope to get lucky if your not in with the best of it.

Oh yeah, stay away from back to back all in raises from the same player that has a decent sized stack, more than likely his second push is much stronger than his first one.
