| what do we do? I have been beat down repeatadly by people with too much money (apparently) and not enough good sense. People who call with nearly anything. 8 3 off suit, or 10 4 off suit etc. They'll catch something like middle pair 4's with a ten kicker and just won't put it down no matter how aggressive I am with my pocket Q's. And the real bite in the ass is that they seem to win more than they lose, against me anyway. It's inexplicable!!! Am I the only one who has had this type of experiance? Over and over and over and over? And does anyone have any tips on what to do about theses idiots? |

| You really cant do anything about how people play. Just keep in mind that your hand is a huge favorite against these types of hand and in the long run, mathematically you will come out on top. QQ vs 83o has about an 85% chance to win. So, out of 100 hands you will win 85 of them and lose 15. Losing hurts, but it happens. You want players like this who are willing to gamble with weak hands. Take a few blows here and there, but you will come out on top eventually. Keep notes on this player as being a loose-passive, call station and seek them out everytime. and keep ramming 'n jamming your monster hands into them and let them pay you off. ETA: This probably isnt want you wanted to hear, but I believe in the math and statistics so that is how I view these types of situations. Luck comes and goes, everyone will get lucky every now and then, but its not its not a sure thing. Being lucky today doesnt mean you'll be lucky tomorrow, but being in a situation where you have an 85% chance of winning a hand will have that same 85% chance tomorrow. And the next day, the next, and so on. Trust me, I enjoy getting lucky (in poker...and in other things in life) but, when it comes to poker, nothing will beat the math. | Bankroll management, play within your means. We all have roughly the same amount of luck, a negative swing can seem like the worlds out to get you but we all get them. The hardest thing to do is quit when your losing, maximize your time at the tables while winning, "MINIMIZE" your time at the tables when losing. If you're playing solid and losing, change tables, drop levels, or quit for a while. Stop playing "poker" and play to "win". In my humble opinion. |

| re: what do we do? poker I know the pain you are feeling young grasshopper. Solution: Slow-play in micro limits? You'll find that most people in there, when they hit mid or bottom pair on the flop, they play like they already have the hand won. They'll call preflop raises with anything, on and on. No one folds to a re-raise. NO ONE. For they cannot comprehend the true meaning of a re-raise. So, hit em where it hurts, when it counts. Put them down and out. They'll learn sooner or later, not that I care, they can stay that way. It's ok. I'll get over it. lol GL. Last edited by wsorbust : 22nd November 2007 at 6:12 PM. |
