Probably similar to what you might do with trips that you think are good. I'd say full steam ahead. Your up against 2 pair or a boat probably if the situation is something like this and there is any action: you: 99 flop 99k if the opponent is making big raises, enough that he'll spend half his chips on this hand or more, you may want to let him bet into you and call (until the river, where you need to rereaise to an amount you think he will call). If there's no action, just bet what you think you can get someone to call.

re: What is the best way to play 4 of a kind poker It depends on what the other's got. If you got 99 and it comes 9-9-K you probably got a chance that someone call in it. If the others got nothing you are just not lucky. I think the best way is to play it slow an come with the HAMMER at the and that they think you want to steal it.

yeah, you might want to slow play, if u can... just in case, heres 1 from me...i had pocket 3's...3 3 J on the flop...feeling comfortable i let it go around and there was a bet 200... a raise to 500 ... i re-raised to 800. I had the short stack of the 3 in play so i was trying to keep 2 of them in to increase the pot, having quads thought it was the best plan. Both players stayed in...the turn was a midcard 6-9, not sure coz the card didn't matter...first player checked..second bet 500 (i only had about 1200 in chips left) so i raise to 800...player 1 folded (said they folded pocket aces)...player 2 took me all in...so of course this is what i wanted so i call...the cards flipped and they have pocket J's...and what came on the river..J...... .so depending on how ppl are betting you might want to wait till the end to make the big move...and that depends when u hit the quads. If anyone is wondering y i didn't go all in when the flop came... had the small stack and wanted to see if i can build a pot and hitting quads on the flop will normally give u the best hand, usually, so when it happens u should kinda sit back and let the other players build the pot for u. Most of the time this works!!!

Too bad you got screwed on the river. Sounds like you played them the right way and were getting paid off on them too. I've only had a four of a kind beaten by a higher four of a kind once. And I also did the reverse and beat one with a higher one.

| It depends on how you hit quads. If you have a pair in your hand and flop quads. You might lay back one card and hope someone catches something on the turn. if you have only one card in your hand and 3 others flop that can be even trickier. Could be that no one else has anything and even if you bet small you are not going to get callers. Lay back until the river and raise big hoping they think you are trying to buy the pot. | There's no best way to play it. If your opponents don't have anything, and choose not to bluff, you won't win anything. If you are lucky enough to run into a decent hand you can win a pot. I usually will lead with these hands if I think my opponents could have hit the flop somewhat hard. If the other card is a deuce, I will check, and let my opponents improve so they will call me later in the hand. |

If you have a pocket pair, make your set on the flop, then your quad on the turn, you're in great shape. You should have, by this time, gradually built the pot with meaningful bets, gotten your opponents a bit pot-committed, and are ready to drop the hammer on them. However, when you simply happen to get lucky and you're holding the 4th card in the hole with the other 3 out on the board, you're pretty well screwed on getting it to pay for you. All you can hope for, really, is that someone made their boat and is reckless enough to disregard the threat of quads. Count me among those who usually doesn't get as much out of quads as we'd like.

slow play slow play, If I am dealt pocket pair ( 8 8 ) and flop comes 8 8 2 I check to everyone, and just call bet's and hopin he or she catches A K I am prayin' A or K hits or they hit their pocket pairs lol on the turn, then I just call bet's and then the river I Bet half of the player's stack or pot I don't want to put a too big of a raise out there.

the slower the better but i would advise to throw out a bet just to see if anyone wants the bait if you get a caller or more then i would check the quads and hope they sensed weakness and my bet was a feeler , then check raisein is how you get the most. people dont like being check raised and they will often pay you off rather than fold that is my advice
