What am I doing wrong?

Hello,
I have been playing regularly in tournaments both $$$ and freeroll. I have played aggressive and passive when I have had pocket A's and K's. I have been dealt these 5 times now and have lost everytime. Any suggestions???
Thanks,
Pokergranni

the basic strategy with high pockets is raise big to eliminate limpers, and bet big on the flop
try not to let anyone even see the turn card
if you know you've been beat (ex. flop comes JJ6 and someone is betting big into you, or there is 678 9 on the board and someone is betting into you)
then LAY THEM DOWN
NEVER slowplay them.
especially being part of a poker forum, i've heard ALOT of bad beat stories with AA, KK, QQ etc.
it may just be a bad streak for you
just remember

Five times is unfortunately too small of a hand sample to base things on.
Plus you are playing them from different positions in different situations.
In other words raise 'em up pre-flop, and you should pick up the pots your fair share. You are currently way below the hand sample to make it statistically significant.

I agree with ChuckTs, if you slowplay a hand like that there are always peepz who want to see if they get that last card they needed for for example a straight or a flush. I am always happy if I start with a AK but I also realise that I've lost big amounts of chips with these hands so I keep that in the back of my head!

What you have to realize is that are a number of players that will call regardless of the bet, especially true in freerolls. Also never forget that pocket aces are the best PRE-FLOP hand. After the flop, all bets are off...

Too little info to come to any real conclusions. 0-for-five, however, probably transcends bad luck. I would consider it to be a red flag about my approach. Two extremes may be coming back to haunt you...going all-in pre-flop and getting called by a suckout, or limping them in and allowing too many cheap flops. The first you can't really do much about. If someone's going to call your KK all-in with A4 offsuit and they catch another Ace, that's just one of the pratfalls of playing with idiots. The limping and slowplaying, however, are mistakes you can eliminate. Don't let them get free/cheap cards. Nothing stings worse than watching the BB play a 97 offsuit because you only called the BB, or doubled it, and the flop comes 97x. Make their suckouts very expensive.

Not much to say that hasn't been said, other than if some or most of these beats came in freerolls, good luck stopping them. Freerolls are basically showdown poker. You will be called no matter how much you raise in most situations by hands as shiatty as 6-7s or any Ace. It is a part of freerolling you will either learn to live with or you won't play them long because you won't stop it from happening.
