Unwittingly Bought into a $500 chip game Every once in a while I discover, about two or three hands into a game, that I've mistakenly bought into a $500 chip game. I usually discover this when I look down to see my stack, expecting it to be in the $1,400 range more or less and see, GASP! $350. So I try to remember how I could have made so many loose calls in such a short time. Of course, I didn't. So I look around and no one has more than $800 chips. Well, my question is how do you handle such a short stacked tourney, IF YOU DIDN'T REALIZE YOU BOUGHT IN TO IT AND/OR IF YOU INTENTIONALLY BOUGHT IN TO IT? Now, I have intentionally bought into $1,500 chip tourneys with HORRIBLE structures (O'Shea's, lol) but even tho those blinds climb fast, I have enough chips to see a couple flops without leaving myself almost broke. Anyone have any clues? Do I play these short chips like those horribly structured tournies or is there another approach (I HOPE)

re: Unwittingly Bought into a $500 chip game poker It was a $4.40 game on UB this morning. I flipped out when I realized my $350 stack wasn't too low as compared to the other stacks. I didn't read the lobby, NEVER exppecting it to be a $500 chip game. Now, my brother often plays the $300 chip games on FT. He loves tham as he only has about 15 mins to play a game at odd times throughtout the day. I guess I'll ask him?! Except he isn't a good player. If I recall correctly, the buy-in on FT is $3.30.

Poker Stars and Full Tilt have nice filter features. What I do is check the games and limits I like to play and use the filter system so as not too maybe click on a wrong tournament accidentally. This is especially helpful on Stars 6 player sngs that fill so fast.

. i dont really see limping as an option and its best u just play it like push or fold. so ill try to get it in with any ace, k7o, q-10, j-10 and like 4-4, 5-5 and better imo, u have to be willing to get ur chips in on marginal situations |

re: Unwittingly Bought into a $500 chip game poker So you don't read the tournament details page before you actually register? They always tell the starting chip stack. Not to mention, do you forget to see how much the person is better and how much you have in front of you?
