| Need some advice on folding the river please, Marginal. I play pot limit $4 buy-ins on a fairly loose site, players are opening and raising with very weak pockets. The opposition appears to be very loose and aggressive and the temptation to call is hard to resist. When I'm holding a non nut hand such as a set, how often will a player making a half pot or bigger bet have a better hand, if I choose to call the river? In this circumstance the better hand is disguised rather than obviously evident. |

| They are usually loose, playing uncoordinated pockets, big pairs unsupported and danglers. They raise to open most hands and hardly ever fold so are hard to read. Lots of Italians and Russians on Luvin Poker. Just won a $3 heads-up folding more and waiting for the real good hands, my opponent kept showing me his cards and had i called I would have been beaten on nearly every instant. Instead of responding quickly I gave myself time to think, these players play fast and I think they just love to see the money going in and building pots, so I've decided not to play at their rhythm but make them play at mine. Perhaps my answer is to fold. I have been following the maxim ' Omaha favors the fearless' but it cost me pots where I maybe shouldn't have called the river and I keep my profits blown away. | we're talking about hands played for nickel and dime blinds as in actual pennies lol.... at least can we talk about some PLO that happened in 1-2$ or higher.... I recommend playing full table and only really playing really top hands AAxx KKxx but fold some really dry kings KK84 no suits... QQ-with straigtening cards or second pair 99-JJ. high wraps min size 89TJ and only playing if all four cards are in a row......JJTT is sometimes playable espcially double suited...with ur wrap and other hands tend to let go of hands with no suits, as merely making a straight with no re-draw potential is dangerous in PLO.I should just write a fcking poker book instead of spewing this gold in poker forums for pennystakes beginners to question....... |
