two things that bother me?

i have a question that i need answers to. i hate it when both of these things happen so let me know what you think when they happen and what you think people are holding when they make these bets.

Ok #1.

When someone bets on the flop into a preflop raiser, and bets like two times BB. heres is my problem. if they have a strong hand would you just prefer to check raise. or if you want to see where you are at and they raise then you fold. so what are you betting on?

#2

say you are playing in a tournament and you are like half way through where the blinds are getting bigger and every hand starts to matter. what is a middle position minimum raise mean? does it mean strength or just low pocket pairs or what?

Thanks

1)yes, biggest hands would check/raise. middle pairs would do this, someone who thinks they'll draw cheap, even top pair/no kicker, poss. AQ low flop.(unless your table image is aggr., then could be trying to get you to raise big) 2)shortstacks minraise big hands often, bigstacks anything really. This is microlimit observations, don't know what you're playing.

I think the answer to this question lies in the players you are playing with. You cant tell by cards but by your reads of the table. Particularly in the middle and late stages. You have to suss out who is aggressive here and who is tight. Figure out the possible range of hands they are playing. That is why observation during the beginning pat of the game is essential.

#1 says I have a draw and want to bet here so that hopefully you just call and don't price me out.

It can also be a small bet to encourage additional betting/raising.

#2 could be a very weak attempt to steal the blinds, or again a blocking raise.

additionally, some people will reduce the amounts of the preflop raises when the blinds start getting really big becuase is represents such a large portion of the thier stacks

Reads would be important to intepretting these actions for what they actually are.
