two pair vs straight flop

this is the situation
I have A K
Flop goes A K 10 (lets say theres no flush situation its win or lose situation)
there are still many hands in play you are first bet..
What would you do.

what i did was a high bet. Last Guy went all in.

Need more info please. Chip stacks? Amount raised pf and by who? Ring or mtt? Positions? Styles of competition in hand?

WIth current info, unless you are SS in late stages of a tournament, this is a pretty easy fold. PF calls could bring 2 pair and straight possibilities that beat you on that flop. I would have made a small c bet to see where you stand in the hand, and fold to any resistance. Live to fight another day.

Yeah you def need more info here because i dont know wht the other guys chip stack is and what yours is, but if i had AK on that hand i would call but need more info please

That's a pretty pocket and a dangerous flop for you. Being first to act, you needed to bet something and you got the information you were after. You do have to fold the hand. AK is still just top two pair drawing to a hopeful boat. If you got a big reraise facing you, you're either playing against a donk/crazy bluffer or you're beat. There are a lot of hands that could beat you and with more information, maybe I could provide a better answer.

Table situation and preflop action would be what I am most interested in. The thinks like Storm mentioned. With AK, I do hope you raised preflop. Depending on how much would help to limit the range of hands your opponents might have. If you raised enough they are bound to have atleast faces. They could have the set of As, Ks, or 10's or played JQs and lucked into broadway. If they were playing a pocket pair or Q's or less (except 10's) you expect them to fold to an aggressive cbet post flop.

i raise preflop 3 or 4 bb forgot exactly
his chip stack was less then 2$ i had bit more
he plays lots of hands

i know its prob not best move to call but i just wanted t know what would u guys normaly do cuz by reading from wat yall say so basicly i would be folding alot

On the flop I either bet it for value or check, depending on my opponent (I bet a lot more often than check if I'm in position).

If I'm raised all in (whether it's a check raise or ordinary raise), at 1c/2c I call even for 100bbs.

Against competent opponents, I fold here sometimes but not as easily as the others who already responded say they would.

You still beat a lot of hands, AQ is about the weakest you can hope to be up against and I'm not calling on the hopes of being up against that, but AT and KT are very possible here. AA and KK are extremely unlikely given that your opponent didn't raise preflop and you already know where two A's and K's are which leaves only TT and QJ. It's dependent on my opponent whether or not I call.

yeah i was thinking there may be lots of other possible hands he may have thats why i took the risk and called and he had A 10 and i won with A K

I went all in in the same sitation and i lost on the river, he made 3 of the same

I like the half pot size bet to determine where you are at in the hand. A crazy reraise and you can fold with the feeling you were correct in being cautious.
