two hands, lost stacks Recently I lost called shoves and lost my stacks in the following two situations. AQ UTG. Raised to 4xBB. BB called. Flop’s AKJ rainbow. He checks. I bet, he calls. Turn’s a nothing card. I bet again but he check raises all in. About 40% of my stack committed at this point. Call or fold? Second hand. A10 on BB. 3 limpers ahead of me. I just checked. Flop’s 79Q. Checked all around. Turn’s an ace. I led out almost the size of the pot. Everyone folded except BB. River is another ace. I raised and he shoves. Easy call? In both cases, I didn’t have much of a read.

First hand check out the Beluga Theorem on this page - Ring Game Hand Analysis: Required Reading Second hand is probably a cooler. Was he slowplaying a set and rivered the full house?

Well then I like a check behind on the turn and a bet on the river (or a call if he leads the river). We obviously agree that our hand is good for 2 streets of value, and I think you get that a lot easier by checking the turn and betting the river. As played I don't think you can call, you're basically never good here against someone you wouldn't go for three streets of value against.

re: two hands, lost stacks poker Hi.. I'm new to this forum.. 1st hand i think the turn bet and checking behind river is fine.. cos he could be peeling the flop with KQ, KT, QJ type hands.. but once he shoves over.. i think its a fold.. 2nd hand i think is pretty much a cooler unless u have a read on the villain.. i call here without reads.. Maybe posting the hand histories with stack sizes etc would make it clearer..

It turned out to be AQ vs. AJ in the first hand, and A10 vs. A7 in the 2nd. On the first one, yes, the more I think about it the more I realize I should have folded when he shoved. I am getting better at laying down a good but not great hand, but still have trouble letting go sometimes.
