Turn bets in pot limit When people bet on the turn in pot-limit that is quite small, is it just to increase the value of a bet on the river? Like building the pot? I have seen people with near-nuts value betting the turn so they can bet bigger on the river. Has anyone else seen this?

Doesn't make much sense to me-- if they bet big(ger) on the turn, then their river bet could be all that much greater as well... I can't say I've encountered this on any type of consistent basis-- is it more of an individual who is just "slow playing" until the river? i.e., would he do this on the flop with a similar hand, and is only doing on the turn because that's when he made his hand?

re: Turn bets in pot limit poker Perhaps it was a CAP game? Since you saw it was close to nuts, you must assume it was a value bet. Most games the bet increases with the turn bet, and if you want to take down the pot, many will wait for the turn, small bet on the turn sorta suggests big hand to me.
