Tried something new last night
I decided yesterday that I was going to play my home tourney in a diffrent "mindset". I was going to only "play" my opponets cards. I know this is some thing that you should do anyway but i've found that in the heat of battle/easy going nature of our home game that it can be difficult to do. As the hands were played out, if i was in it or not, i was contuing to ask myself "If that was me, what would i need to bet that flop/turn/raise ect.
What i found it did was make my starting hands a lot tighter. I made some excellent laydowns with hands i might have called without doing this. the draw back was i think i was tending to give my opponets too much credit for their hands. I try very hard to get my hands in with "the best of it" I hate going in as an underdog knowingly. It seemed to take the gamble out of poker for me. There for i was blinded out/fold hands and didn't take any money for the first time in 2 months. I know it is a work in progress but my question is. If i put my opponet on a range of hands that are slightly better/coin flip than mine. Is not playing the hand wrong? |

LOL@Rob.. Must be a guy thing... all I can imagine now is you sitting there thinking of "Sexual positions".. and that xandit has one that you haven't tried just yet...
But nope xandit..you can always learn new styles and impliment them in your game. One can never stop learning about this game. |
