Tracking performance

Can any of you guys suggest a good piece of software or anything else that helps you to track your performance?

I`m looking here at keeping track of games played, buy in, time of day, day, money won (or lost!!!) and anything else you more experienced guys think u need to keep track of.

As usual, thanks guys.

Ronaldadio

I'm interested in some views from forumites on this one as well. I'm an copious Excel record-keeper, which is very helpful to my game, but I've been looking at picking up some software to improve my game.

I use PokerOffice but have been beginning to wonder if PokerTracker might be a better product. I choose PO because it includes some features that required addons with Poker Tracker. However, here are some of my concerns with PO:

1) Limited to Texas Holdem.
2) Doesn't fully support MTT (not sure if Poker Tracker does).
3) It tracks PF% instead of VPIP. This means that it tracks the percent of flops seen instead of the percent of times that you voluntarily put money into the pot. VPIP is much more telling since it does not consider the times that you see the flop for free from the BB. This can have a significant impact on the stats when there are only a couple hundred hands on a player.
4) Lack of software documentation. The only existing manual was for the first version of the software.

In all fairness, I have never used PokerTracker, so I have no idea which is better.

I'm not answering the above question - back to your original one

I've started using pokerdominator.com to track my SnG performance. Gives exactly the info you are after and is free.

If you are considering PokerTracker, I'll use Coryan's post to elaborate:

The only free add-on I ever need is GameTime+ (Heads-Up Display & Hand Grabber).

There is a separate Poker Tracker version for Omaha.

Depends on the site. Some supported sites require you to just add placings, or to request summaries by email, but still good overall MTT support.

Poker Tracker uses both VPIP & PF%. The stats retrieval is very flexible.

The Poker Tracker website has periodically updated Help Documentation patches that can be downloaded directly into the PT pgm.

PokerTracker is $55. Be sure to use the CardChat link if you want to purchase it.

I checked out Pokerdominator, also. Looks pretty cool for free.

The only thing I noticed it was lacking is the ability to track opponents. I like to keep the goods on my foes.

that and the fact that you have to manually input every session or tournament you want tracked...i still plan on getting Poker Tracker in the near future, though this site isn't bad as something to tide me over

still a great tool for free - i suggest it for anyone whos in the middle of their sng challenge who just wants to track their statistics

Yes. The only catches are 1) It only does ring hands and 2) A simple install of a certain driver is required to retrieve hands from the database. Otherwise, simple. (I'm on Prima, not Ladbrokes, but it has instructions for Ladbrokes in the Help Text & check the pic below.)

MrSticker, thanks for elaborating on some of my comments. Based on what you have said, other things I have read, and my experience with PokerOffice...I would recommend PokerTracker!

I like PokerOffice for getting instant information on your opponents when just watching a table. It's a great product if you're happy playing just Holdem. If you like Omaha, then PokerTracker is the only way to go. Both are great products.
