| Top hand - flop no help Any tips on what to do here? E.g another player dishes out a biggish raise and you have AK, AQ AJ or any big top cards and you call. What do you do when the flop is crap and all you have is a high? What would you do especially if low on chips? Thanks |

| Depending on what the villain is like, I'm probably reraising instead of cold calling with AQ or AK. With AJ, I'm either reraising (only if I sense weakness) or folding - it's not a strong enough hand in my book to be cold-calling for its value. If I'm reraising, then I'm representing something big, so I bet big on the flop. If he cold calls me, then I reevaluate, and try to figure out what he's got and why he's calling. Shortstacked, I will never cold call one of these hands PF, I'll push. hope this helps; just my way of playing those big cards, though if you prefer cold-calling PF, then don't hit, it's probably best to let your hand go if you're facing another bet. |
