I'll tell all the recreational players I know they should stop getting a buzz from playing micros, because randeebam says they're not allowed to ... |
Why is it silly? Sigh.
Well, if you think it is a silly assumption complex then so be it. We have already established that the Americans class a recreational player differently and have a totally different approach when it comes to money. What the hell does my poor skill level have to do with it? I know I'm bad, I freely admit that and on that note, why on earth would I of played 100nl/200nl etc when I was even worse years ago? Along with my friends and many other people just around me..
I really don't understand you at times. It's like you want to argue, I said I didn't want a flame thread I wanted opinions, then I can give mine and so on.. I'm not saying people don't enjoy playing micros, all I'm saying is that a recreational player from my point of view don't think "ok I'm BR for this game" Deposit $100, you know 9times out of 10 it's going on one table in my opinion!!

The point, well to be honest I can't really remember my OP now lol. There was a point, I think it was a general thread that I wanted opinions on and not flamed - which inevitably it has turned into.
AGAIN though, my point wasn't that 100nl is easier. My point was merely, you might well find from my experience on casino based websites, not so much
pokerstars or FT that a recreational player who gambles money on the GG's, football etcetc wouldn't be interested in playing 2nl..and that you will find quite a number of players who are more clueless at 100nl than the grinders who try and grind out 2nl/5nl and are trying to move up in limits..

I do believe in most cases that someone who hasn't played poker before might well deposit only $20.00 but I bet theres a select few who actually will think "BR management" and just stick it on one cash game table or play a $20.00 MTT/SNG. I mean come on, before you played and wanted to grind out, you knew about BR management? You knew you needed buy-ins to play a limit to avoid varience? Nah, I doubt it you most likely stuck it on one table. If however you did, then you're lucky and most likely seeked out
poker strategy etc well before so knew all the must do's first.

I think it's a generation thing. I know if a friend of mine who hasn't ever played poker before wanted to play, he most likely would stick $100 + on and go to a mid game stake game..
Anyyyyway the thread has got daft and well I see other points but if noone sees then that's fine but I seriously think it's an age thing more than anything, theres much more information out there these days so people might think differently, clearly.
