| Table Selection Epiphany! Hi CC I am aware that table selection is of huge significance in making profit at cash games, but at certain times of the day I've noticed that sometimes even FTP and Stars can be quite dry, unless you want to wait behind 4 or 5 other players on the waiting list, by which time the fish's stacks may already have been snapped up. I think this may have to do with US regulations or something, there doesn't seem to be that many US players on at what I thought would have been US peak times. Anywho, today I was struggling to find loose/fishy tables and I think I may have had an epiphany. It's that if a table only has a few players on it and is empty, the rest of the seats will most likely fill up with fish, since all the sharks are looking for full/near-full tables with a few fish already on. I've tried this only twice, and it worked a treat twice. I find this quite a hard topic to use the search feature on, since there are so many posts that involve table selection, so maybe this has already been discussed. Sorry if it has, but I'd like to hear others' thoughts on this if not. Thanks Last edited by madtom1337 : 21st April 2010 at 6:14 PM. |

| Starting tables and playing HU in general is far more profitable than playing a full table (well far more profitable for 1 of the players at least.) An epiphany that comes after you play a bit as well when it comes to table selection is what sort of table you looking for? I like to balance out the loose and tight tables that I play because just loose tables is not always the best I think. Sometimes, especially if you are in a LAGgy mood you might want to go to a nice 11% vpip table and start abusing the nits. very good for practicing correct b/f habits(knowing when to fold is generally somewhat important in poker I hear.) |
