Surrender Stragedy

Have you ever encountered players that go all in preflop and say "I have to go home" making you think they have a mediocre hand at best. The thing is, that could be using that line to suck you in when they are holding a great hand. Some players go all in preflop and say "I'm not even going to look at my hand" when he could've (but you didn't see him do it because you are too busy looking at yuour own hand). This could be another stragedy to get people to call them when the player could be holding a great hand. Anybody has ever used this stragedy (I like to call it Surrender Stragedy) to suck some players in or played with anybody who has used this stragedy?

Once I can remember when i was the short stack towards the end of the game, after having looked at my cards which were good, I annonced I was all in preflop (cant remember exactly what they were). But somebody else at the table annonced that I was all in preflop without looking at my cards(nobody else saw me looking at my cards). I did'nt correct him. So I got two callers and won that hand, and then went on to win the game.

Used this once in a live game, it was a €50 buy in with 3 players left 11 entrants, winner take all game, big pot, but it was in a bar. The other two players were hopelessy drunk at this stage.

So the barman comes in and anounces that all the time we have left is for 2 more orbits, and that the chip leader at this stage wins (chips are average but i was sitting in 2nd), but while all this was going on i took a peek at my cards AA

So one of the other players asked if we just turn the cards and let luck decide the game OK SURE, not even a single spectator seen me look at the cards, I agreed and the other player declined, WHHHOOOO 500euro up.

But that was the only time ive ever done it. And im sure if i was caught in that particular game i would have promptly gotten a broken nose for my trouble.

I've not seen that one t1riel. Often see people saying "oops" or "gg bye" when pushing all in.

Did a similar thread here http://www.cardschat.com/t60663-guar...sands-of-.html

I have fallen victim to this ploy once...and only once. I had just started online play. Fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Probably because I would never dream of pulling such a ploy like that myself ("I gotta go, I'm all-in next hand"). If I do say that, I mean it, and will only push with the crappiest hand possible (this usually has only happened when I've stayed up way too late to play a $2 R&A...now I know when to get in bed!).

This move is the mark of a real amateur. I remember falling for it once when I first started playing online. It is interesting to note, however, that every so often someone is truly needing to get out, announces it, goes all in with a garbage hand ... and wins! I once saw someone do this three times before someone took him down.

If I felt I had to make moves like this to win chips, I would go back to playing slot machines ...

lightning, i have been witness to that on more occasions than i can count. in one of the bar tourneys that i play in, there are two players that are NOTORIOUS for it. one of them just loves to play but has to leave after the first hour and a half to get to work (a pretty legitimate excuse). the other one is just a and makes us crazy because he has a horseshoe lodged up his . it does not matter WHAT he goes in with, it will hit. we've never seen anything like it.
