| sorry, like playing most hands and even raising them preflop and even betting when you dont have anything.... The thing that gets me the most when i play like this, and i rarely do with real money, is having top pair with a low kicker. Sometimes ill fold it but then sometimes ill bet heavy to try and make my opponent he is out kicked. |

Why do you want to be super aggressive? Super aggressive as a full time poker strategy is a losing strategy. Super aggressive is a temporary tactic to provoke bad play out of your opponents not to encourage you to play badly. Several factors apply as well, sometimes when your on a rush and hitting your flops. If your playing super aggressive and the cards are hitting you over the head. Your catching the flop with trash hands and your profit is good keep going. On the other hand if your not hitting the flops, your trash hands are not hitting (which is most likely), then you just lose enough so you will be called by your opponents when you do have a good hand that will stand up. Super Aggressive play is for the player who has a great (not good ...GREAT) bankroll and you want to shake up the game, provoke players to make bad decisions, maybe turn a conservative table into a loose one. Or a loose one into a tight one it depends on what you want to accomplish. Super aggressive play is 9 times out of 10 either temporary to provoke players, someones on a big rush or some fish is throwing a party. (party = playing stupid and donking chips) |

When you see these guys on TV you see them normally with a huge stack and near or in the money. What you don't see is how they got there, I suspect that while these guys don't mind taking chances with speculative hands in late position while short or mid/average stacked they are picking on individuals who are weak and dead money. They also are millionaires who can afford to drop 10 grand in a tournament and not sweat it ... that's a HUGE advantage. Daniel Negranu is a great LAG player too, it's a dangerous style but he can afford it. None of them play LAG 100% of the time, they are reading players, looking for weakness's and exploiting them. We don't see these great players from hand one to the final table, only TV presentable action to keep viewers interested. Playing LAG and TAG depending on the situation, aggression is key but it has to be selective to your advantage. |

| I remember the first section of Super System by Doyle Brunson when I read the title of this thread. If you have the book, reread it.. if not, the juxt (is that even a word?) of it is be aggressive with outs. When its obvious your drawing dead, let it go. But be aggressive (raise, raise, raise) with your draws and even bottom pair. Mind you that's not a generalized strategy and posting some hands for hand analyze might help us help you with the specifics of your question . Robbie |

| You can go in flops with crap if you know that you can outplay your opponents afterwards. Essentially you are playing the players more than your cards. It can be situational, as when you're in a tourney and the blinds are high and worth stealing and the table is short, or, you can do it just because you have a good read on the other players. But, you don't just play that way until you know how to play and how to read players. As Rob says Super System is a good read for starters, or search the forum for LAG (Loose Aggressive) |

| super system is a very misunderstood book by many.... quite a few ppl who read super system think they have to go all in every time they have 6 outs on the flop or any draw. The thing you should realise is that players like doyle have super reading abilities and they are smart enough to think about what range of hands their opponent will be calling them with.... You cant just be aggressive with every hand you play....IT WONT WORK. your opponents will pick u off! |

| ok, here is the skinny, i tried out lag and tag styles at 9 player sit and gos... so far my LAG record is 1-4 and my TAG record is 2-0. I guess TAG is for me. With LAG i would get a lot of chips early but then i would lose a lot and then i would go back up a little bit but then no body really took me seriously. I make bad calls and raises when playing LAG so for right now i guess ill be more of a TAG player. |
