Suggestions of playing pocket queens

I have always treated pocket queens as a danger hand since it's vulnerable to kings and aces. Usually I raise pre-flop to push out potential low 2 pair drawers. But then A or K flops and I fold to their bet, fearing of losing more money with only 2 outs. However, I like to all-in if the flop falls rags so I make chasers pay. Is my stategy good?

QQ is a great drawing hand, great heads up, and in the elite category of hands.

Raise it 3-5x the bb (exception is when the blinds are low like 10/20, then I usually raise it a little more).

If an ace or king hits, make a bet of 1/4-1/2 the pot, not all your opponents play every ace they get to a raise, or king for that matter. If you get raised, its an easy fold. If you get called, beware. Often enough, you will get it folded to you.

If an ace or king doesn't hit, and you have an overpair, feel pretty confident about it, but look out for possible sets, alot of people like to play small pairs, and I have lost many qq, kk, or aa overpair hands to a set hitting on the flop.

I usually bet the pot if no a or k hits, make them draw to their 3 or 6 outer, and if they do have a set, they usually raise there. Then its up to you to decide if you are against a set, or just against top pair.

i like the way dirty plays it cuz i play it the same way. even with A K on board i like to see the turn...i start to get nervous tho if a J comes up or a 10 and someone bets a crapload....then i'm thinking maybe they've got the straight with one of my queens or they're just scared someone else will draw a straight and their K or A high pair wont hold out for very long so they bet the pot heh...good plays tho seifer...nothing totally wrong with how you played it...that's the flop i hate when having pocket queens...it's easier and more relaxing to play when no A K comes up.

Pocket Queens are my favorite hand... I don't know if it's good strategy but if I'm short stack I go all in, If I'm siting on a decent stack I raise 3X the BB, if I'm chip leader I raise 5X the BB

All in with QQ preflop is not a good idea (unless short stacked where a normal raise would make you pot commited). I would generally come in for a standard 3-5x BB raise, then depending on the number and type of callers (tight/loose) I will bet out even if an A or K falls on the flop to see what happens.

If the flop comes rags with 2 of a suit, I will bet pretty hard. If there is little straight or flush potential, play it a little more slack and hope an A or K doesn't hit.
