you need to raise firstly, theres a king sure, but if im reading it correctly, there were two kings showing, making it less likely they have a king. so come in for a raise firstly... make it hard for those straight type hands to see 4th street, i like the raise on 4th, you can pretty much put the guy on a straight draw then and there.. although possible he has aces or queens in the hole, i think he would have raised firstly so def straight draw for me..

the 2 is sortof a blank but it could give him a few extra outs, the king doesnt help him and the check raise on the end is very unlikely to be a bluff so it looks like his straight got there.. depending on the player if you call that bet or not..

main mistake, not raising in the first instance, otherwise you played it ok i think..

No, he really doesn't. With 3 overcards, a jack dead, and our having a straight-flush kicker, calling along is just fine. A dead pair of jacks isn't that big of a favorite in this spot, plus this provides some variation in your play. And varying your play matters in stud where you play against a lot of the same players.

Actually, you're not reading it correctly. With two kings out it becomes *more* likely that one of them has pocket kings.

Hand was played just fine. Even better than fine, this is textbook. You can bet/fold the river if you've played with this guy long enough to know that he won't spazz the river. However, if you're readless, a crying call isn't a huge mistake.

You got your opponent to call with a dead draw heads up, what more can you ask for.

Beginner question here. Aren't the hole cards scrambled on the reveal? So how do you know villain wasn't drawing to an open ended straight? In which case, wasn't he correct to call past fourth street? Or even take a shot at stealing with the lead out bet?

OK, that was four questions. Sorry, seems like a teachable moment.
