STT Turbo Guide - Whats a Turbo??

I read ChuckTs guide to STT Turbos , and it's simply brilliant and I am busy putting the theories to the test (so far 1 for 2 in the money). But my question is this - what is considered to be a true "turbo" since different poker rooms define it differently.

For example, a turbo on Ultimatebet or PokerStars is 5 minute blinds. An "ultra turbo" is 3.

On FullTilt, a turbo is 3 minutes.

It made me think perhaps the guide was written for more of the 3 minute blind type of SnG, because the 5 minute intervals didn't seem to match up time wise, while the 3 minute (obviously I tried both) did in fact match up dead on.

Full Tilt PokerFull Tilt Poker is the poker site the pro's play at. US players are welcome - use Full Tilt Poker referral code CARDSCHAT for a $600 bonus.

UltimateBetUltimate Bet are one of the older poker sites on the internet with a great range of games to play and a 111% poker bonus with the bonus code CARDSCHAT.

First off the guide really does apply to any type of STT; not just turbos. The difference between regulars and turbos is simply that you have to adjust to the raising blinds quicker.

I'm not exactly sure where to draw the line between regulars and turbos, but I will say that it depends on the blind structure and the time intervals between them - if a site goes 5/10, 10/20, 15/30, 20/40 with 5 minute intervals, it's obviously not the same as a site that goes 10/20, 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 200/400 etc with the same 5 min interval. The latter would obviously be considered a much faster structure.

Sorry this is a horrendously idiotic question, but where can I find ChuckT's guide?

First to Alessandra, the thread is here. It appears to be absolutely golden, especially if you do it word for word... Turbo STT guide

And ChuckTs, thanks for the guide and your response here. I think a player should be able to guage where best to apply this guide. I'm running through Turbo STT right now on FullTilt. So far played in 3 and made the money in 2.

When in doubt, use the search function Alessandra

(it's the last one on the list...)

Alright, one night into my "Turbo" experience on Full Tilt, here are the results ...

# of Turbos SnG Played: 6
1st Place: 0
2nd Place: 4
3rd Place: 0
4-9 Place: 2

Prize Winnings: 18.90
Bought In : $12.50

I would have taken 1st in two of those games if not for RIDICULOUS bad beats. I'll post em if people want. BUT - considering I had never finished in the top 3 before tonight, I think this little experiment was definitely positive. I'll play the $2 until I actually win one, but my ITM% warrants a move to the $5 SnG Turbo I think. (on regular SnG on Ultimatebet and PokerStars I play at $5 and $10).
