Strategy or Stupid

So I played in the .10 tourney on full tilt today... unfortunately got busted out early, but i noticed that a lot of people go all in early on, even more so than in a freeroll, which at first I thought was weird. Then I thought about it, and I realized that none of these people were going and rebuying so that wasn't the reason they were playing loose with their chips.

I decided that these people must have been trying to double up early on in the tournament when they had only invested .10 because at that point in the tourney, first off they hadn't wasted any time, but more importantly a double up would be worth .50 because thats would it cost to do a rebuy to double up. As a result, if they were pushing all in with greater than 20% odds of winning the pot, in theory they were getting good value on that ten cents because they could very quickly turn bring up the value of the .10 cent entry to .60 cents.

What do you think of this strategy? It almost seems like a reasonable strategy as long as you turn your game up after the double up, although you definitely would look like you don't know how to play, pushing all in with a minimum of 20% odds of winning. It seems like the kind of strategy that in the long run could really pay off if you play it right.

i disagree...later on you're probably only going to double up..id rather push with a good draw hand..suited connectors for 10 cents early on a multiway pot when people are playing loose.. why rebuy for 50? get lucky..triple up then wait for a big hand and your at 4-5 or 6 times your starting level .. AND if u lose you have limited time invested
