Strategy sites...1 on 1?

Hi guys, I'm thinking about looking into some tutoring to improve my game and wanted some advice. I've been playing for years on and off, won a bit, lost a bit. I'm still a fairly low stakes player but have the cash to step up a little and play a few of the games that really interest me.
Most afternoons and evenings I play a couple of hours or so, just killing some time and donking off a few quid on the SnG's. Sometimes the micro's, usually $3-$10. These I'm ok at, a few flaws but if i'm in a game I enjoy (high enough stakes to keep my interest, low enough to not leave me broke!) I play solidly. MTT's are where my problems lie.
I'm a reasonable MTT player but need some help with various aspects of my game, namely mid-late aggression (I can usually cash, but tighten up too much and lack the 'in it to win it' mindset), short-stack play, and positional play. I've read some pieces about position, and get the basics but I need help implimenting it depending on the table dynamics...more than one dominating stack in particular.
So... I've had a look at some mentor-style sites and checked out Tilt's academy, but i'm still at a loss. I'm not interested in hiring a 'ghost' (if they are still allowed) for £50 p/h plus 50% of winnings, lol. Does anyone know of a decent site where you can maybe get 1 on 1 assistance, not necessarily free of charge, but certainly not ghosting your play and taking a cut.
I know I can always post histories here and ask where I'm going wrong, but they just dont go deep enough to the roots.
I might be wasting my time asking this, worth a shot though. I've been cashing (top 27) the 2700 seat sat's for the late night poker and the million quite regularly and think its high time I tried a few of the Guarantee's. Similar sized fields but i'm not sure my game is quite there yet. Not in the deep fields anyway.
Cheers. Kev.

If you don't feel comfortable, I would say absolutely do not play in these tournies, as you are going to be playing scared and that only increases your chances of tightening up so much that you screw yourself in the long run. As far as one on one, you might be able to look around here for people that are willing to coach, I have seen posts for them from time to time, but I think that the best thing that you can do in the position you are in is take full advantage of the forum. I know it's a pain in the ass to read through hand histories at first and take in everyone's opinions, but that is going to help your game dramatically by absorbing that information.

If you don't want to read all about other people's hands because they don't apply to something that directly affected you, then you should be posting some of your more interesting/crucial hands and getting feedback on it. And don't be afraid of getting torn apart for some of your plays, the first HH that I posted here was of a Royal Flush that I got, and I was ripped up and down for it because I pushed all in with 4 to the flush on the flop, but you have to take it constructively and remember it for next time(btw, on that Royal, I still got the guy to call the all-in, lol)

re: Strategy sites...1 on 1? poker

I've got a friend to sit in in a few weeks time with me. He's won quite a bit of cash in large field tourneys and claims to be quite a whizz with positional play. Also satellited his way into this years main event, so its looking like a safe bet. Got lucky really, he's my best mates brother and I just mentioned the other night I was looking into coaching. No charge, he's just gonna watch me and help out where he can. Will post here if it goes ok!

Wow, my game has some holes! haha.
The first thing he told me was to stick to a bankroll. Previously I'd been playing anything I fancied and re-loading $50-$100 whenever I wanted. All that really does is make you play a single strategy for every game, and not really worry about the outcome. I.E. I was playing the same level at $1 and at $25, and everything in-between. Essentially thats like playing way below your level, and you get bored with it and become LAG, playing every other hand that your dealt.
So, made a decent sized deposit and now have fixed limits to stick to. Nothing above $20's so i'm not playing scared, nothing below the $3 Killer games (4/5 is optimum level really) so i'm actually interested in the prizes on offer at said level. Strict BRM isn't really in place yet, i'm still only a recreational player and fortunately I have the luxury of being able to re-load the amount I currently have invested in my 2 sites anytime.
It really does pay to get someone to cast a critical eye over your game! I'm getting there as far as strategy, gonna play a few more games with him and get the aggression levels right, but its looking promising. Gonna learn how to import HH's on here so you guys can shout some sense into me too!
Heads up has improved immensely since having a weekend playing nothing but $2 and $5 1-on-1's, an earlier post helped too, about how heads up at the end of a tourney is MASSIVELY different from a straight heads up challenge.
Thanks to the posters on here anyway.
