Starting on pokerstars without depositing.

Going to start building up a bankroll there without depositing. I am in the US, what are the best freerolls/tourneys to get into?

I just registered for the US freeroll and he Hubble but extremely tired so will probably crap out or fall asleep playing if I dont. At least I wont lose anything, just be a day behind.

I read about the T$ thing, but which tournaments can you qualify for then unregister to get them. I dont get how to tell which ones to target for this purpose (if any of them are actually freerolls that this can be done with).

Thanks for any help/advice.

PokerStarsPokerStars is amongst the best poker sites online that accepts US players. Use PokerStars marketing code CARDSCHAT for an exclusive $75 bonus.

Full Tilt PokerFull Tilt Poker accepts US players. Use Full Tilt Poker referral code CARDSCHAT for a $600 bonus and to play poker games that the pro's play.

PokerStars is honestly a terrible site to start playing from scratch on. Try FullTilt or something else.

Honestly it's ridiculously easy to get itm in the USA freerolls on stars. I didn't even play the first hour and twenty minutes later I was $0.04 richer! lol, no but seriously it's a LOT less work (and very little reward) to get ITM on stars.

I play on Absulute Poker currently, was looking towards PokerStars due to all the tournaments and seems to be plenty of players.

Its ironic you mention Full Tilt Poker. I was there earlier today and for some reason when I try to join the $100 freeroll the software just becomes too unstable. Dont know what it was, but I could play in the play SNG's and took one shot at thier poker after dark qualifier and it was fine. Went to go back before checking here, and now it wont even connect. Uninstalled/Reinstalled. So no idea whats going on with thier software on this system.

I got the $$$ to deposit, its just I dont want too.

I'd send you some, but my friend keeps buying $20s of PokerStars money from me (I keep having to transfer from FT). It works out nicely for me though.

long hr's for freerolls

No matter what freeroll you decide to play. Plan on playing 4 or more hr's for little money and that is if you're lucky enough to accumulate a hugh stack to stay in the game

If you want to build a bankroll from freerolls, I'd suggest searching out some of the small sites. They have freerolls more often, with fewer players so you have a better chance.

poker champs (lol) used to be (in my opinion) the easiest place to build a bankroll from scratch on, but they dont allow US players anymore, so i cant play there =/

i once went from 0 to $75 in 1 day. talk about a joke. the next day i got it to like 125 haha.

ok myar i got an idea for u....if u want to build up a br without depositing, i would suggest u join this staking site...neverbeg.com....there u will receive stakes from ppl and first they will be small stakes like 1.20 45 man or 1.10 45 man (this is easier to build from than free rolls) u prolly wont receive a stake right on the first day but if u keep looking around and applying for them u will eventually get one. just make sure u keep yr stats up best possible. lets say u play 1.10 45 man and u win it thats 14$ then u ship 1.10 and 50% to the staker. so that leaves u with 14-1.10 and divided by 2. so that leaves u with 6.45 (not a lot but something to work with) and i would play 1.20 9 man since u have better odds of winning those than the 45 mans cuz u need a lot of luck in them. or maybe just keep applying for stakes and keep building yr br up from them and once u reach 25$ then start playing tourneys and small sit n gos. i think this is way better to build up from than free rolls which take over 3 hours just for 10 pennies. i even know someone who has done it before and now has a nice br and good br management and gives out stakes on that site.

im not talking about CC im talking about a different site. thats why i said he will first get small stakes like 10c and 25c and 1$ stakes to gain respect from everyone and if he wants to get more stakes and not to get banned from that site he will have to gain respect and not roll anyone ( steal any money from some1) and yes i have staked ppl that i didnt even know at all and had some take 1st two times in a row but i stopped since i no longer play on stars, but i think this is a great way for him to build his br to 25-50$ without any problem it is a lot a lot easier than free rolls.

If you want to start with nothing, I'd suggest Bodog. They have freerolls restricted to newer members that have yet to deposit funds. So very few people in them ... 50ish compared to the 2700 at FullTilt and the 8000 at PokerStars. I think you need to email in to be on the list for those. Bodog also gives player points for time played. So while you're competing in the freerolls or even play money games, you're earning points that you can use for better freerolls.

Another thing you might try is their $0 with $1 rebuy. Of course, you won't be able to rebuy, but if you do well the prize money is better then a typical free roll.

i like the freerolls on other sites better. i'd recommend the full tilt cardschat sunday tournament. and try some smaller sites. otherwise, you spend 5 hours in a game just to win $1. you're better off getting a minimum wage job.

Myar, it's certainly not too hard to start a bankroll on Pokerstars without depositing. You will need some patience though.
  1. The first method would be to earn entrance to the Weekly Round 2 tournaments that are played every Sunday afternoon. You have to finish in the final 3 tables of the satellite tournaments in order to earn a ticket. This will take 4 to six hours to accomplish. The good thing is that you can enter tournaments of many types including Holdem, Stud, Omaha, Razz, and HORSE with all of the appropriate Hi/Lo and limit variations. Once you get into the Weekly Round 2, it's pretty easy to make the money. It's usually around the top 20% who make the money. If you're lucky/good enough to win one of these, you can expect to take home a nice chunk of cash.
  2. Another method is to enter the private freerolls that are offered by various forums and other entities. Cardschat does the occasional freeroll on Pokerstars. The good thing about these is if you make the money, you make the money. None of that moving on to the next level stuff. The drawback is that the level of play you will encounter is considerably higher.
  3. There are also freerolls offered by Pokerstars for various nationalities. Unfortunately for you, the US freerolls are rather unwieldy. But you have nothing but time to lose with them, and if you look at them as good practice, you're not even losing time.
Once you've gotten some cash in your account, it's up to you how you feel you can best build things up. I would suggest the micro limit ring tables as a good possibility. Another is the $0.10 buyin tournaments.

I don't think the $T really apply to your situation. These can only be won through satellite tournaments, which are usually real money or FPP buyins.

Hope this will help you get started and good luck.

THanks for the help.

Have a few dollars now on PokerStars. Just chugging along and going to let it get a bit bigger before starting to use any of it to play.

Ill second the CC'ers that have mentioned Bodog. 3 freerolls a day, 2 for 500$ and one for 1000$ - all of them rebuys, but play sensibly and you wont need it. The site has toughened up a bit compared to just a few months back though. I won a couple of the FR's earlier, lately i havent gotten a FT at all.

Done that, or still am doing that, made $250 from freerolls.
I got it done in two ways........
1-win massive amounts of playchips, they are easy to sell on the internet (ITS TRUE, AND TOTALLY LEGAL) just google sell PokerStars play chips and there u go. I think the conversion rate was 1 mil for $10
2-check the privat tourneys-tab and check those freerolls. Stumbled across railbirds.com there, they hold a $200 freeroll a day, so thats a steady income too

I wish u Very much Lucky

PokerStars is a bad spot to build money with freerolls. The best I have done on freerolls is Bodog and Wingows. Absolute Poker only has 2000 player limit so that might work too. Bodog has the biggest prizes $2,000.00 and two $500.00 freerolls daily. I have cashed on freerolls at Bodog more than any other sight. I have found the best way to build free money is to get on forums and play the forum freerolls. If you play tight for the first hour and a half, you have a good chance to make the money if you play smart and aggressively thereafter. You need patience if you do it this way because it takes a while to build money even when you are depositing.
