starting hands

I have been a break even player for a couple of years and with turmoil in my private life I haven't even been break even lately. I haven't minded losing the last couple of months because poker has been a distraction and worth the losses. But now I want to improve my game so I got Pokertracker3 and am going back to the beginning with my game. I'm not going to worry about bankroll right now because I thought I would play several thousand hands at the micro limits and concentrate on hand selection. I still plan on playing forum events because I really enjoy them and I believe I can filter them out with Poker Tracker when the time comes for analysis.

Anyways, the reason for this post is we don't have anything easily found about hand selection. No articles, nothing in the golden archives or beginners section. I would like to write an article but my writing skills are not good enough, let alone my poker skills. Maybe someone else could write one? I did find an excellent post and chart by Chuck that should be a sticky in the beginners section, imo.

Read ChuckT's 10k post guide covers a lot more. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it.

Opening range:
Quote:
Early position (UTG-UTG+1): Raise {AJs+, AQo+, TT+}, limp {22-99}
Middle position (MP1-MP3): Raise {ATs+, AJo+, KQs+, 66+}, limp {22-55}
Late position (CO-SB): Raise {most aces, most broadway, suited connectors, some offsuit connectors 22+}
