| Standard Raise In A 1/2/2 Structure? Local room I've been playing in spreads a 100NLHE game w/ a 1/2/2 blind structure. I usually raise 3-4xBB pre-flop but figure with the extra BB 4-5xBB is better. Any thoughts about other ways this blind structure affects pre-flop play? |

The problem with needing to raise 4.5xbb to get pot is, with $100 capped buy in, you're putting in 10% of your stack or more. It forces me to play tighter than I like until I get a stack rolling. You also face 3 random hands in the blinds which dampens out your steal attempts. The second big blind gets odds to call w/ just about anything. I guess I'm kinda answering my own questions now... I'll stop talking. |
