Software question on hand history

Is there a software package that will mine your hand history and let you know how many times something like this has happened? Is that something that PokerTracker or HoldEm Manager will do?

Both PT3 and HEM will allow you to look for hands/display reports under tons of conditions. Here, it depends on what you're looking for specifically, but you could look for the following:

1. Win %, BB/100 winrate, occurences, etc of KK overall
2. Allin pf w KK winrate, win%, occurrences, etc
3. Hero opens and shoves over a 3bet
4. Performance in pots w more than 50bb's

etc. etc. etc.

How about how many times you were 83/16 on the turn and got burned?

I doubt it would have any redeeming value except to soothe my ego.

Good info though. One of these days I should shell out some bucks and get one of the two.

TBH, it does not really matter in the short run how often you lost cause everything will even out with a large enough sample size. As long as you are getting it in good, amirite? But you should definitely get PT or HEM, the trial period for PT is 60 days while HEM is 15 so when you are ready you could get a good 2 and a half months with it before you have to purchase anything.

HEM is about 55 for small stakes and I cannot remember how much PT but it might be 80 or 90.

Already burned through my 90-day PT trial. They have a good setup too... you can't set the clock back or uninstall/reinstall it either.

. I believe someone (dg i think?) posted a free HUD (ie stats display), Not sure how good it is but you can try it. I'll try to find a link.

As said both PT and HEM can do it - but over a large sample it will probably be 16/100 lol.

I rather spent 60$ on HEM than deposited 60$ - and it plugged one or two leaks within a week.

I dont know why you are looking at the equity on the turn, the money went in preflop wheer you are 70:30 against his hand and 62:37 against a decent stacking range (JJ+ AK)

infact if AK is the lowest hand he calls an all in with he calls KK+ AK then you are 47:53 behind

These values are based on all 5 cards coming, you cant get the money in preflop and then decide to metre your equity on the turn.

If this happens to you 100 times, you can expect to lose 5-27% of them.
If this happens to you 500 times, you can expect to lose 11-21% of them.
If this happens to you 2000 times, you can expect to lose 13.5-18.5% of them.
10,000: 14.9-17.1%
50,000: 15.5- 16.5%

If you actually converge to 16%, you play way too damn much poker.
