Softest live poker game ive have everseen Hello All Im back I have recently moved to a town that has two live tables. The funny thing is that there is not a single player at these tables that can even be called a poker player. Ace rag and king high hands for a $60 pot are very common. The games are $1-10 HL limit. And a $1 blind no limit that only has maybe $500 on the table. I have been playing on both for 3 weeks now making at least $80 a night. The problem im having is for some reason I cant get much over $200 in a night. Keep in mind this is a huge suck out game. What I would like to know is if anyone has run into this kind of table before and what is the best way to work it. I am having fun. I dont play as tight as i used to in a harder game. What i would like to do is figure out how to get the most out of these players. I average bet is $2 and i can get up to 5 callers if i raise in last positon after many callers but cant get to many if I am the better to start out with. I guess i can say if i bet alot of people dont play. What kind of bet would work so i dont have to play with the whole table untill the flop?? There is only about one bet preflop out of 20 hands if im not playing. Thanks for the help. Poker Games

I am in the same situation. I live just out side of birmingham and theres 1 table in the hotel lobby pub the same people are usually there 3 or 4 times a week after they play golf. Those games are fun. But you need to present your self as an intimiadating player. Create this image by raising big like 20-30$ and show that your taking it seriously. If you get a big hand bet really big and at the end of the hand when you win flip over your cards and show everyone at the table. Next time they should remember that you raised big with a good hand. They should back off. Btw What town is that? Are the two tables in a bar or what, I live in a small town too and theres 1 table in the hotel lobby pub. Those games are fun.

the town is choteau MT. Its a town of about 2000. My main problem is that I am known in the town as the card shark. Slow playing works some times but I would like to milk the table for even bigger winnings. I still leave most nights with at least 1/3 of the money on the table. Thanks for the tip Adam

re: Softest live poker game ive have everseen It's funny, the theory is that if you play with loose players, you should tighten up your game and play less hands. But if they're not too aggressive and are only raising 1 in 20 hands, you probably have implied odds to limp in with everyone else. If people are calling your raises, don't worry. So long as you don't over-play your big hands if they could be beaten on the flop, it's an ideal situation - you're playing for higher stakes when you have the best cards. I'd say continue to raise aggressively when you have good cards in position. You may want to play hands like TT and JJ a bit differently though, limping in and hoping for trips rather than raising to narrow the field, which sounds like it won't work.
