So Many Points, So Little Time... I posted this in the cash games thread but thought I'd start one of my own... So I've been really lazy with my first deposit bonus clearing but I've decided I want to clear it up and use the free money. So. I have currently cleared $125.21 of my $599.99 (lol I know, exchange rate) bonus. I have until the 25th of September at 11:03 to clear it. Some simple maths: $599.99 - $125.21 = $474.78. $0.06 cleared per 1 FTP earned which means I need to earn $474.78 / $0.06 = 7913 Full Tilt Points, yay round number. Starting today (so when I wake up, it's 4AM here) I have 49 days plus half a day on the 25/09/10. This means I must earn: 7913 / 49 = 161.5 (rounded up) per day from now until then. I currently play 10nl and with some serious grind those numbers are attainable on any given day. However with this amount EVERYDAY for 49 days, this will be very tough. To give an example on 7/08/10 I played 1500 hands of FR and earned 150 FTP's. I would hope to earn 200 FTP's for a couple weeks to give me a cushion and this is serious grind, especially for someone who is not used to it and at my level. Obviously I hope to move up soon, my bankroll is around $220 and I'm not even sure I'm a winner at this level yet. I will probs play with 6ish tables of 6-max to still learn the game as I grind. I also don't have a job atm but I'm starting uni around the end of September, so those last few weeks will be ****ed up, freshers week woooo. So long and short of it, wish me luck, I will need it along with a good amount of determination, something that's not really in my vocabulary. I wish I had money to put on a prop bet, but sadly I don't. At least it will be good for my game and hopefully get some Iron Man going too. I've got grind on the mind, let us go go go!

200 points a day playing 10nl is easy. I've done it all year long. 8 tables with two back ups going. So I guess I should say 8 to 10 tables. Takes around two hours to hit 200 points. That's for FR. I would assume it would be quicker playing 6 max. GL, but you are making it sound more difficult than it actually is.

I understand what you're saying TPC. I'm playing 10nl but hopefully not forever so I'm playing 6 tables of 6-max atm. Far from my max-limit but where I feel I can make good decisions and keep learning. Also everyone is different and for me this is a lot of hands. I'm not saying it's unpossibles, but for me very hard. 3/4 hours a day every day for 50 days will be tough. Oh and no rush thank you, for the same reasons above Thanks for the support guys

So I didn't play yesterday. Woke up, watched the football (THE PREMIER LEAGUE IS BACK!!!), played some football, then went to town. Doesn't look like I'll play today either cause I'm suffering a little from the latter on that list. I'll try and get some hands in later in the day perhaps. Only after the footy now though. Oh well |

A few things I don't like about the hands above... 1) You call a 3-bet vs. 120BB stack with pocket 6s. 2) Your river bluff bet sizing was too small with the 64s 3) You call a turn over-bet (T9s hand) with 2nd pair, and then check the spade river. I think if you were going to play this T9s hand, you should 3-bet light pre-flop. If this villain hates to fold, I'd just fold this hand pre-flop. If you feel you can outplay him on certain boards, then maybe a call is ok this deep. As played, I guess I don't mind your call on the flop. When he overbets the turn I think you have to raise or fold. 4) I've posted my thoughts on the 87s hand in HA.

Meh, his play sucked with the hand that he had, and yes, he sucked out... But it's easy to suck out on 2nd pair, lol... I don't feel like your hand was strong enough to attempt to go to showdown vs. such a turn bet. I don't mind a raise.

| Just knocked out 2788 hands and just over 200 FTP's. Sadly thanks to not playing for 3 days I'm looking at 200 points per day now. On happier news a 6 buy-in day and a $20 bonus unlock means my bankrolls over $300 now, ship em. | Manchester Utd ![]() Not very well tbh. You can see where I moved up and took a shot at 25nl, literally a straight up line. Unfortunately the downswing came the very next day resulting in the mountain. Moving back down to 10nl has gone a bit rough too but I'm still rolled and confident I'll get back to winning soon. Starting today hopefully . Will put in a session today and post details before I go out. |

A -4 buy-in day, followed by the need to withdraw most of my bankroll for life stuff means I have a bankroll in between 2 and 5nl. This challenge is over. I'll have to start grinding again when I feel any sort of motivation but with lots of stuff happening over the next month or so it doesn't seem likely. This thing was definitely a long shot anyways. Thanks for following.

So I sit down to play some poker. My bankroll says I'm rolled for 2nl, or 12 buy-ins for 5nl. I play some 5nl and realise straight away I'm pretty tilted not because of the level as I in no way have a superiority complex, but because of the circumstances leading to it. I sat out for a few minutes and then decided, why not, I have a buy-in for 50nl. HU it is. I won 2 buy-ins against a super aggro villain after a few lucky hands. Including an A10>77 pre-flop flip early on into the match. I lost a buy-in back and sat out after looking at this guy's PTR, he's quite good. After some searching I find a lovely nit-fish and he leaves soon after I stack him. He must be popular as someone on the waiting list joined then left when they saw it was me who won. So. A $168 bankroll as of now. Yes it was foolish, yes the reasons that led to the session were probably tilt induced, but when I sat down I played my best and got lucky. Now I'm not a million miles from where I was before and I feel I can carry on with this challenge. If I had lost my roll I would have felt exactly the same as I did before the HU. Sometimes in life, fortune favours the brave. (Do not try this at home, the following stunts were preformed by trained professionals. Attempts to copy the above could lead to loss, anger and sadness. Do not try this at home)

It's funny how circumstances change in such a short time. You're probably barely rolled for 10NL even with your good fortune. I get a lot of flack for this, but I recommend the Shallow Stack tables to anyone looking to get lots of points quickly. Yes, the skill level does drop some, but you can make profit by playing smart. The hardest part for me sometimes is just finding enough tables to play.
