Slow playing in Limit holdem???

Hi guys.

I`m playing a lot of FL holdem, mainly $1/2.00.

I am finding that when I get a big starting hand and I raise, I got a lot of followers.

I was wondering what u though about slow playing in early to middle position with all hands other than say AA/ KK/ AK.

I`m newish to limit ring games, but what I`m finding is happening is that I do ok, win a lot of cash over a few hands, then I loose it all when my trip aces get bust on the river by someone on a flush draw.

Thoughts please guys?

its called 'No Fold'um Hold'um' for a reason. its nearly impossible to push somone out of pot in limit holdem, this is why playing preimium hands is a must. i wouldnt worry about it though, in the long run you will come out ahead.

What do you mean by "slow playing" then?

I suggest you read F Paullson's articles....You won't find any better!!!
My only other suggestion to you is if you are new to Limit, then start out at a little lower stakes until you get the "ins & outs" of it....I am strictly a limit player at the cash tables...and have to say its a totally different strategy than NL...I don't advise slow playing AA in any form of the game though unless you indeed wish to see them go down in flames to 9-3 off!

I mean QQ early position call, not raise.

Definitely raise. You have to push the advantage when you have it. Playing low-limit, you'll see your bankroll fluctuate a lot, but it keeps going up. You play the odds, they don't. Money in the pocket.

As talkpkr2me said, read F paulsson's articles on limit holdem. There is plenty to learn there.

Limping in early position is fine dependent on the table. Middle position, not so much. It's less likely that someone will raise and you can repop. Another instance where slowplaying is acceptable is when someone on the button raises you and you look down at a high pocket pair. It allows you to check raise most flops and take control of the hand post flop.
