Sitting down with money.

I was reading another thread and this question came to me. When you're in an online game and it has a max and minimum you can sit down with. What do you choose? Is it better to sit with the minimum in case you have to go all-in and lose or do you want the maximum in case you go all-in with the nuts and want to make a max return on your investment. Or do you set down with some odd ball number that might make people think you're down to the end of your money and a little desperate?

I would get an amount somewhere in the middle of minimum and maximum. That way, players don't have a clue what my intentions are.

I tend to put out what I am willing to lose that day. Not that I am feeling that way, it just makes sense to me. On that rare occasion that I do lose it all, I know it is time to quit for the day, or that table.

dont ask the odd ball...

Well, ive never chosen a low odd ball number to be desceptive, but now that you mention it, IT IS a good idea. I usually buy-in to the closest zero dollar amount and try to triple it, but it is low enough that i wont mind losing it with say... K K to an Ace-4 off suite. These things happen. I like to play .05-.1 and start with like 2.14 if i have say $22.14 in my bank. If i can get 6 or seven bucks ill really tighten up and if cards get cold ill leave. I have used this method many times and like all things it has its good days and it has its bad. Sometimes i come out on top 6-7 times my buy in, and others i cant pick up a joker to save my life..(full tilt commercial reference there, I KNOW, there are no jokers in hold' em. Myself excluded). Anyways, maybe im just OCD or something, b/c i almost ALWAYS round to the nearest dollar amount, and i get some funny buy-in figures b/c of that.
