Showing your cards. I'm sure this has been brought up b4 but I am too lazy to look for the thread. I have been playing a cash game tonight(first in a long time) and have been only showing my premium hands(@25NL), well actually AA and was wondering if this effects the other players at the table and in what way? I mean can I get away with bluffs and how often with 29/17/72 stats? with over 150 hands. The reason I ask is because I never have played 25NL before and I thought I would try because frankly i HAVE BECOME SICK OF BADBEATS and thought throwing my last 27 on the line would do no damage to me since I have been playing on 100 for the past 6 months or so and have been making no gains. I am currrently sitting at 95 from 27 with the following stats: During current Hold'em session you were dealt 172 hands and saw flop: - 4 out of 21 times while in big blind (19%) - 3 out of 21 times while in small blind (14%) - 26 out of 130 times in other positions (20%) - a total of 33 out of 172 (19%) Pots won at showdown - 3 of 6 (50%) Pots won without showdown - 35 My big question is: Can you be skilled enough for a certain level even though it is out of proper BRM? You are skilled enough for a given level but not rolled for that level. You are prevented from playing at a level you are rolled for until you build your roll up by?

Last time I showed was when I flopped quads, but I rarely show. edit: You can be skilled enough, but the point of BRM is to deal with variance. We all know you can make all the right decisions, get your money in with the best hand, and lose. If you can have 60% winning sessions at a given level, that's great. But if you only have 4 buy ins for that level there's a decent chance you'll be going broke especially with tilt factored in.

I never show cards. And I wish I could turn off the other player's cards before their shown. Very annoying and and its so obvious what they hope to accomplish. And why give them any info about your cards or game. Occassionally I will respond in the chat box, but they never ever really know for sure.

re: Showing your cards. poker I never show online, no reason to, plus, anytime you show online, that information is stored your opponent's tracking software and hand history websites. Showing will only hurt you online. Live is a different story and I will show from time to time during a friendly game.

I don't show very often but today was one of those times when I did. I like to be viewed by the other players at the table as being tight. Today I was moved to a table and immediately was dealt AK which was good enough to take the hand. I showed my cards to let the other players know that I was not bluffing. I did that in the hopes of jump starting my tight image.
