Shoveament strategy guide

There are many variants of the game of poker, each with their own strategies, subtleties and nuances. Each game, be it Omaha, Stud or Hold em reveals more of itself each time it is played by the observant and thoughtful participant.

It could be said that poker is a flower, which with gentle attention and care rewards those who nurture it with evermore intricate and rewarding secrets.

All of this is said, but none of it is true of the shoveament tournament.

This variation, once a mere sideshow to the more commonly played variants is now sweeping the online and bricks and mortar casinos of the world. With as many as one (1) tournament taking place in any given calendar week there are literally dozen of players worldwide gripped by this seemingly random yet actually random game.

As an experienced shoveament player having played one (1) tournament myself I can reveal to the novice the secrets of this intriguing game and hopefully add something to the arsenal of the more experienced shover.

First of all, don't be intimidated when you sit down at a shoveament table for the first time. The players you find there will be the creme-de-la-creme of the poker world (or at least what would rise to the top if the poker world had been left outside in the sun for a week).

There will inevitably be lots of talk of "shoving any two" and "all in first hand" designed to put off the newbie. DO NOT BE PERTURBED, allow yourself time settle in, let the ribald humour wash over you and focus on your strategy, which should be as follows.

1) carefully consider your opponents, are they weak, tight, loose, passive?

2) push all your chips in the middle
