Should I take a shot at 10NL? OK, so since I got HEM, I've been going about fixing the leaks in my game, and moved from sng to pretty much just cash games, with the odd MTT. I have a bit over $200, from cash, freerolls and MAT's so I'm just about rolled for 10nl. My 5NL hands were purely played at rush poker so I'm going to stick with that over standard ring. My question is, should I playe another 5/10/20/50/100k hands at 5nl, or just move up to 10nl. I'm worried that I've just been on a heater and I won't actually able to beat the game. My winrate for the first 2 levels is ok, but not great. Here are my graph and stats for 2NL and 5NL(rush). I would really appreciate and feedback on VPIP etc. also. Cheers, Aldito

How many RUSH tables do you play at once? The max is four I believe. If you are playing the max, I would move to 10nl like TB said for five buyins or so, but switch to like 10nl full ring and play eight tables, it will work out to about the same as four RUSH tables, but you'll actually be playing real poker and not RUSH. Will be better for you and your game in the long run. Just a thought.

re: Should I take a shot at 10NL? poker For a second there I thought your non showdown winnings line almost matched your amount won line, I was like wtf. As said above as long as you have a big enough bankroll for the limit you should be taking a shot no matter what, just fall back if things get ugly. If you're comfortable playing that tight, then stick with that style, try raising a bit more as opposed to calling preflop, especially when you have position.

I definately think its worth giving it a go, but i would play just one table at a time to begin with, and if you drop below 200 probably should drop back to your comfortable stake to try and win it up again. GL and hopefully you will not have to drop down

So, I took you guys' advice and took a shot. It's a TINY sample but I got on ok, and bear in mind it's only 2 tabling so I guess I put a good few hours in. The main thing is I was pleased that the jump isn't anything near what I expected and it has given me the confidence to play higher than 2 and 5nl. Taking a break for a couple of weeks though, turned a Step 1 ticket into $216 and unreg'd, withdrew ~$500 booked a weekend away with the lads :P. But when I get back, and my exams are over I'm gonna put in some serious hours at 10nl and see how it goes. Thanks for the advice guys.

I just looked, I'm pretty sure it's not possible to turn a tournament ticket into cash. |
