Short Handed Limit Holdem AK vs Maniac
Do you think its smart to take AK (or any good ace) to showdown against a maniac? I've done it several times and each time I took the pot down I felt like a genius.
Against one guy I even took KJ to showdown and took it down withing King high. I've been watching this one player the whole session he played everyhand, raising preflop almost everytime. If he didnt raise preflop he bet the flop no matter what came out. Alot of his hands were something like 62 or T4. However it seemed like I was the only one at the table to take marginal hands to showdown against him. personally I love short handed limit. |

The board would have to be really, really ugly for me to fold AK vs. a truly loose and aggressive player at any point. I don't make a habit of showing down K-high, but it's happened.

I don't think I necessarily tighten up postflop. The thing is, that so many players at my table play recklessly postflop (because it's shorthanded and they think they have to) that I'd miss out on a lot of money if I didn't exploit that. So it's opponent-dependent, as almost everything is.
