A rough patch I consider myself a pretty solid player. I play low stakes 1.25 to 5.50 SnG's. I usually hit a peice of the prize money every evening. However, the last three days I have been sucking. This evening I backed off my usual style and played only 23% of my hands and hit the money after a dry spell. Maybe I was playing too many hands or chasing draws or over cards Any other recommendations that a general in nature? Thanks in advance.

We all have bad runs....the best thing to do would be to take a break for a day or two and come back and the play the style you are use to winning with. It is hard to avoid chasing money when playing online....just beware and let the bad streak play out

If you were usually cashing before, do not lead away from your original play. If you were winning before there obviously was no reason but luck to hurt you. Although, there never is a problem with seeing only 23% of hands. Make sure that your playing sngs at a reasonable size to your bankroll, and your bad beats wont hurt too bad. We all go through it. The only difference is handling it well and moving to lower limits when you lose a lot of money.

re: A rough patch poker Wow, I'll keep playing but I had KK cracked four times tonight. I would raise 3-4x the BB and always loose to an Ace or a random set. Then, there are the "fishhooks". I must have the worst record ever with pocket J's. I try not to play to tight because if I do get a hand and raise, I won't get any action. I just want to hit one tourney to get my groove back

I think taking a little break is probably sound advice. I do it whenever I am on a rough patch. It also keeps me from going on tilt. I try to maintain a level head but when things go from bad to worse I am definitely not on my A game. I hope things turn around for you soon

Babynut I have been through the same rough patch. I have been getting KK and AA busted on a regular basis. If I go into a hand with a 3 to 1 advantage i find myself losing 60 percent of the time haha. I am on a break right now, reading a poker book, and reading threads. Just take a week break

re: A rough patch poker You cannot win em all. Thats a stupid way to think. EVERY great poker player has gone through rough patches. Every single one. Just stay patient and never give up your game. Just keep on keepin on my friend!

it can be extremely difficult whn u hit a rough spot and nothing seems to work-u start feeling like u need to get back in the game quick-start making to many mistakes and boom youve hit complete tilt-best thing to do is just close your eyes for about 10 seconds-breathe stay as relaxed as possible and remember all u can ask is that u make the right plays-cause even then u wont always win-if that fails just stop playing and come back when u have regrouped-the_urge27
