Ring Game Blind Defending 6 Player MicroLimits

Here are my thoughts on ring game blind defending:

* I don't defend my small blind. I only complete my small blind with decent hands.
* I only defend my big blind if I have a drawing hand like j-10. If I have something like a-7 and he raised with a-9+ then I'm a dog. I might defend with a-2 for straight or ace painted for flush only. Why should I put more money in the pot when I'm already disadvantaged?

Why is blind defending a mistake?

* If you don't hit on the flop then you've no idea what your up against. Any C-bet and you really have to fold.

* Calling when disadvantaged 4-5 cents each time can quickly eat into profits.

These are my thoughts on the blinds. Now if I'm getting blind attacked constantly I might fight back but I'd prefer to do that by attacking someone else blinds.

Agree or disagree? Also it depends on the amount if I have 2 cent and 2 cent to call then I'll almost always call but a 6-8 cent bet then I need a drawing hand. Anything more and I need a pretty strong hand. Of course, calling with Ace-painted is a good bet because he's not likely to lay down a big hand like 10+ in the micros. Folding is cheap at only 2 cent.

When you say defend, do you mean get involved in a raised pot preflop from the blinds, or do you mean playing your hand in a different way, or playing more hands since your blinds may be the target of an attack from a wider range of hands?

Lets take two situations:

1) A tight player raises 4xBB's from UTG.
2) A solid, aggressive opponent raises from the button.

My hand range that I'll get involved with in situation #1 is much different from the hand range I'll get involved with in situation #2.
