Putting players on a hand I'm not to sure if this is a question or an expression of something i'm struggling with online (low stakes), or maybe i know the answer ... But one thing i'm struggling with in the online low stakes game is putting people on a hand. Over time i'm finding the range of hands people raise for example, pre flop is ridiculous and therefore post flop at times i struggle as i'm not able to figure out a good enough range to be comfortable with what i'm doing ... Obviously the more you play at a table or against someone , the better you get, but even still, the range can be so wide that u just dont know ...

If you have been losing to people because of these wide ranges of hands, then start assuming you are beat when they bet as though they have you beat. If this is happening a lot, try reraising with the most premium hands, see who stays in. I'm very afraid of playing against other moderate to premium hands because I'm not confident in my reading skills, so if I have KJ even on the button, I will fold to a raise above me.

This is why paying attention in poker is soo importantr. Watch what hands people are showing down and how often they make it to the showdown. If you notice a huge variety of hands tthen I assume people are playing loose, so when ever you have a playable hand make sure to repop them. I laydown KJ sometimes as well but if I'm playinbg in a table that plays alot of hands, well it depends how many people in the table and what the winning hand usually is but if its a loose table I'll repop with KJ especially if I've been playing tight. ! very important thing to do is to play tight because with that comes a tale image so less people would want to play against you then you can play looser hands from time to time and get away with it. I dont know why I just gave you my whole game plan but thats pretty much what I do. If you play tight and come in raising everytime you're in a hand then more people would fold making the people that call you easier to put in a hand. Try being out of position sometimes when you bet that way it looks like you have an even stronger hand. I just gave you my whole strategy every time I play, its been working for me hope it works for you.

The trouble with low stakes online poker is that a lot of people either just dont know about hand strengths, position and such or they just dont care - a lot of people are playing with a ' oh it's just $2' mentality. A good way to approach such players- especially in low buy in SnGs is to go into total grinding mode. Stay super tight till at least 3, 4 or even 5 players are gone, these are the donks who call all in with 72o and make a full house on the river. Play only the top 15% or so and never ever chase anything unless you can do it for practically free - the chances of some monkey re-raising are just too high. Be patient and dont worry about folding too many moderate hands. Once the table is reduced to 4 or 5 players you will see a difference in the caliber of play and people will have some idea of what they are doing. Now your strategies and skills will be more effective, or in the very least you will have the satisfaction of knowing you didn't feed a donk.

re: Putting players on a hand poker Yeah that's the trouble with this strategy - by the time it gets down to the last three, I am almost always the short stack. Unless I hit a real hot streak or the other 2 are really passive, I am likely taking 3rd which is usually not enough
