Preflop raising when there are antes

What are you standard raises when antes start in tournaments? Most people will do a standard raise of 3-4xBB when they bet preflop. How do you alter you preflop bet, if you even do, when the antes change the pot odds?

This is how I figure out how much I am going to bet preflop. I will do a 3xBB+1 BB per limper. I look at the ante as one limper. So my standard raise when antes hit are 4xBB + 1 BB per limper in the hand.

I try to stay in the 3-4xBB range when the antes just start and then once the limits move higher I like to raise it to 4-5xBB. I only do that when Im running even with the average chip stack or a little under to try to pick up the blinds. I dont try to steal everytime with random hands though I use suited connectors and high aces when I need the chips.

most of the time i would do 3 or 4 x the BB if i am the first raiser, if i have a strong hand and i am in late position i would go for the pot to try and eliminate the limpers or get some action if someone limped in with a big hand as well...its all very complicated as my play depends on chips stack, position and how i feel about the ppl at my table... but overall i try to stick to the 3 4 times the BB raise, so i dont get hanged or crippled very early.....

Simple rule of thumb.
3X the BB, Add the Antes + 1 ante.

Early position will put me in the 3-4x range, but late position can change that depending on the counts of the callers. A strong hand will most times put me at the pot + 2-3x to really minimize the catchers.
