The Power of Paper

Today, I was reading some articles at CardsChat to help me improve my play - in one of the articles it strongly suggested writing notes about players!

Well... I decided to give it a go, and wrote types of bets, types of hands, how they were played ect on some paper - and prezzo, I saw a pattern in some players aggressive betting, which I managed to exploit many times to win the pot!

Although I lost to this player with us being the final 2 (I was severely short stacked), I would recommend this to any other poker player out there...

Just though I would share my experience with others

I agree, Tony, keeping notes is extremely valuable in helping you to get a read on the opponents. I am a big note-taker myself, although I usually find it more convenient to use the online facility that most poker sites provide, rather than paper.

Yes, the note section would probably be better - I am using PartyPoker at the moment though and they don't seem to offer such a feature!
Maybe I should make a suggestion to them

Unless they have altered it, Party does have the feature, m8.

From memory, I think you right-click on the player`s name to bring up a box into which you can type. I`d load Party up and check only I am looking good to cash in a tourney I`m playing on another site right now, so should focus on that.

Good thinking. Don`t play tired, drunk, or stressed.

Oh, and I came 5th in my MTT.

Now I am tired. Good night.

Keeping notes on the sites have helped my game. And by having them there they can/will help you down the road if and when you play them again.
